I also chose the IJN only because I wanted to challenge myself with the higher XP goals. Although I did play some US ships during the engagement but overall it was good sorties in my IJN DDs, CAs, BBs, and even a CV game!

I usually clear my cache history and sometimes flush my internal DNS so the browser is forced to go to the source instead of paging through the cache history. Sometimes posts get archived or re-purposed, in the case of Flag-O-Rama after the winners are posted, and the browser may or may not bring up the correct URL.
I reviewed your profile and saw you joined Japan and received 1 Zulu flag on 06/22/19.
Hope that helps!

This cruiser?
Sendai class?
I see on your profile you chose the US Fleet and you received a Sierra Mike signal on 06/20/19.
The results won't be tallied until the end so it won't be visible to the Fleet during the engagement period.
Always up for good ideas! What do you have in mind?
Have you seen "Man in the High Castle"? It's an eerie look at what you just mentioned.
I also picked Japan as I look at it as a challenge to hit the higher thresholds for greater rewards.
Good luck in battle!

*An F6F Hellcat from Fighting Squadron 16 (VF-16) on final approach onto USS Lexington (CV-16) in the Philippine Sea on June 20, 1944*
Are you participating the Battle of the Philippine Sea and which side are you joining?
The battle was s decisive engagement between the Imperial Japanese Navy and the United States Navy which cemented the course of the War in the Pacific.
Whether you choose the USA or Japan, your efforts will not only contribute towards the the completion of a mission but the Admiral also has rewards that await a victorious campaign.
USA or Japan, which side do you choose when you set sail for the Battle of the Philippine Sea?
"One's judgment is best when he can forget themselves and any reputation they may have acquired and can concentrate wholly on making the right decisions." - Raymond Spruance, U.S. Navy

Ahoy Fleet!
The odd-numbered tier CVs (Bogue, Essex, Zuiho, Taiho) will eventually return to the game.
The Dev Blogs are a good source of information for getting a sneak peek into up and coming announcements.

Thanks for providing the feedback regarding AA defense mechanics.
The balancing of CV gameplay and AA adjustments is still fluid as we continue to compare the performance between the two.
While we aim to reach a balance point between the two, any adjustments could potentially favor either attacking aircraft or AA defenses. Sometimes, this can be subtle but it might also be dramatic in its outcome.
Appreciate your feedback and will take a closer look at your suggestions!

Ahoy!
There were a few reports over the weekend of this occurring on the PT. We are still looking at the information submitted by our players to determine the cause and to see if there is correlation between these events.
The events were not wide-spread but did affect a number of PT participants.
We will look into this using your python log and compare it with other reports.
Thanks again for joining us on PT 0.8.5 and providing this information!

Ahoy! Have you earned your namesake commander in game yet?
*pictured - VADM Marc Mitscher debating with his chief of staff RADM Arleigh Burke on board USS Randolph (CV-15) over positioning of radar picket destroyers off Okinawa in June 1945*
Early in the battle, are you likely to attack or defend against the enemy fleet?
Whether you are in domination, standard, or epicenter mode, there are distinct advantages to playing aggressively or taking up defensive positions.
However, they come with risks as well such as losses of allied vessels or being isolated from your Fleet and left vulnerable.
When your Fleet sails into combat, how do make the tough decision on whether to defend your position or take the fight to the enemy fleet?
"You manage things, you lead people. We went overboard on management and forgot about leadership." - Grace Hopper, U.S. Navy

I concur, it only takes 1 enemy destroyer or torpedo bomber squadron to send your crew running for the lifeboats.

*pictured - USS Wisconsin (BB-64) providing fire support for the 1st Marine Division off the Korean Peninsula on December 3, 1951*
After firing your main battery guns, do you keep your sights on the target or do you set up for the next volley?
Some captains find keeping the sights set on the target helps with accurate and live time adjustments to fire for effect.
Other skippers prefer to zoom out after rounds go down range to get a global view of the battlefield and to watch for other threats on the horizon.
When your guns go ablaze, do you stay on target or do you fire and forget?
"One hundred rounds do not constitute fire power. One hit constitutes fire power." - Merritt Edson, U.S. Marine Corps

Commanders, we continue to work on the bugs and improvements on the Public test version 0.8.5. Thank you for participating in testing!
Maintenance for the Public Test server is required during this time:
Downtime
Start: 11:00 am ET / 08:00 am PT
End: 12:00 pm ET / 09:00 am PT
Changelog:
The minimum speed when using the Engine Boost for all Tier IV to X aircraft has been changed. Now the aircraft decelerate by 26.25 knots instead of 17.5. Attack aircraft, as well as Japanese and German aircraft, decelerate by 30 knots instead of 20;
Fixed the bug which prevented reopening of the Campaigns screen;
Fixed the bug where squadrons of the aircraft carrier punished for dealing damage to allies were not displayed on the minimap.
Fleet!
Good news! The damage repair party identified the loose cannon and have secured it!
You should be able to re-enter PT 0.8.5 and get back in the fight!
