Sure would make archery harder.. Depending how the "darkness" is implemented. I.e. is it darkness you can overcome just by pumping up the gamma, or is it "true darkness" where we're literally drawing black pixels.
in b4 archers with huge gamma settings
If it's not cloudy out and the moon is pretty full, nighttime isn't that dark. Usually people live inside with lights on in their house, walk outside at night and can't see a thing because their eyes aren't adjusted to it.
When i was in the Marines doing field exercises in the outback in the middle of the night, even without NVG's I could see pretty damn well (provided the moon was out). after an hour or so your eyes are completely adjusted and it's not that dark, it's just harder to make out details on things.
When it comes to Mordhau, if we added a night map it would definitely be adjusted for gameplay, we don't want people stumbling around in the dark and falling off towers :D
and the actual dev told me that if I want him to fix a bug (glitch with weapon) I have to tell him how to do it
...cause if the devs can't recreate the bug happening, they can't see the part that's broken? It's basic debugging. There's thousands of lines of code and one line is causing the problem, literally finding a needle in a haystack without information to go on. That's why it's so important to include steps to reproduce the bug, because seeing what goes wrong gives the devs an idea of where to look and they also probably have tools to see what code is getting executed when the bug happens.
I can understand someone with no programming experience not knowing this, but what the dev asked was perfectly reasonable and necessary to fix the issue.
yea if we don't know why something happens, how do we fix it
I don't even understand why, they already have the game mode ready and the matchmaking system in place. I really wish they finally pushed the button on this
more due to player counts but also we're looking into making team ranked that has objective play, and something that could be used by the comp scene as well.
Reinstalling the game did not really help. /u/Jaaxxxxon can you forward this to the devs maybe?
honestly it could be for a hundred different reasons - best bet is to head over to the discord - discord.gg/mordhau - and go to the tech support section. You'll probably find someone or a mod/dev who can help to troubleshoot these issues, but it's pretty hard to do this via reddit. 👍
I hate this specific sport. It just looks like your mom made you put on the armor so you dont hurt yourself while playing of fighting with your middleschool friends.
irl dudes in full plate would usually end up in a grapple, which turned into an armored wrestling match with daggers - the winner of the grapple got to stab the other guy in the eyeballs.
so some of this is 'correct' but there's also dudes hitting each other in the heads with swords, which doesn't accomplish very much
No way, what is the jousting called?
i think it's called jousting
Go for it!
can you pm me a link to the video? <3
yeah a few weeks most likely, we'll see. don't want to rush a buggy patch if we can help it :)
Holy f**k I've never been more hard in my life
can i share this on twitter? :)
thats a ue4 thing, real chads use windows tab anyways
Well Triternion has a pro-Free Guard agenda so, even in the lore too, they benefit 'em.
what lore kekw
They should just overhaul the VIP mode or even scrap it. Playing as the King is either exceedingly boring by hiding behind Toolbox defenses in order to win the game for your team, or exceedingly fun for you as you rush the enemy and abuse your unflinchable double-damage Rapier/Longsword/Mace and lose the game for your team.
we've talked about giving boss characters hp on kill. not 30, but like 5-ish hp will make them actually fun instead of a hiding simulator. most map issues in regards to boss characters seem to be more about the boss mechanics than the map designs themselves
reason being is gameplay and readability
the falchion is a slow choppy weapon, visually with a wide, asymmetrical blade. wouldn't visually make sense
arming sword is cut and thrust, symmetrical blade. visually works, works gameplay wise as well.
other weapons have their proportions changed for gameplay as well, like the rapier (which irl has a longsword length blade)
OI ROCK 'EM M8
Yeah we're looking to give more points for more engineer stuff, we'll see what we can do :)
Clip from my lastest project that I couldn't wait to share with people.
can i share this on the Mordhau twitter pls i must show the world
play with the trap, get the
s n a p p
play at your own pace, and instead of getting good (if that's what you want to do) work towards getting better.
If you've never played a game like this you shouldn't expect to just top frag right out the gate, but the mechanics are pretty dang consistent and you can improve really fast. Good luck, have fun!
