Item level progression has been updated. Item levels now increase faster in lower character levels, and low-level creatures are better tuned to account for this and other factors.

Additionally, Gold rewards have been increased at all character levels.

The Dragon Aspect Ysera’s most trusted lieutenants have fallen prey to a dark power that’s corrupting the Emerald Dream and the denizens within. These four powerful dragons of the Green Dragonflight have passed through portals from the Great Trees to wreak havoc and spread madness throughout Azeroth.

Lethon

The sneaking corruption has darkened the hue of Lethon’s brilliant scales and empowered him with the ability to extract malevolent shades from his enemies to imbue himself with healing energies.

Emeriss

The dark power within the Emerald Dream has transformed the once-majestic Emeriss into a rotting, gruesome monstrosity.

Taerar

Taerar’s exposure to the dark force has destroyed his sanity, and along with it his physical form. The great dragon has become a specter and can split into multiple entities that possess destructive magical powers.

As in original World of Warcraft, the Dragons of Nightmare have some randomness to their comings and goings.

So that players don’t have to wonder and wait, we’re going to trigger the four dragons to spawn for the first time on all realms at 3:00 p.m. PDT (6:00 p.m. EDT) tomorrow, Thursday, April 16.

Thereafter, they’ll respawn according to their own designs.

A few hours ago, the 100-guild threshold was crossed for both factions to complete Ny’alotha on Mythic Difficulty and earn their place in the Hall of Fame.

Raiders have until scheduled weekly maintenance (a.m. Tuesday April 21 in this region) to claim their spot!

With the weekly reset, Mythic Ny’alotha will become available to cross-realm groups.

The circumstances of the last few weeks have led to an unexpected increase in both the numbers of players that have been playing WoW Classic, as well as the length of their play sessions. This has caused some of the most-popular realms to see queues again. While free character moves can act as a relief valve for players who just want to play a particular character regardless of the realm it’s on, that’s not the only tool in our belt.

It is possible to temporarily raise the population cap on a given realm by turning layering back on. While I can only name half-a-dozen realms in this region that really have extended queues right now, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more realms experience queue growth during this remarkable period we’re living in. So my question for you is this:

  • If your realm was experiencing one-hour (or longer) queues during peak play times every day, would you want your realm temporarily increased to two layers, to shorten the queue? How do ...

As it did in original World of Warcraft, the Zul’Gurub 20-person raid will have a 3-day reset timer. The ZG reset will be different in each region, and the first reset will occur less than one day after the raid opens at 3:00 p.m. PDT on April 15.

In this region, the first reset for ZG will be at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Thursday, April 16. This will be 18 hours after launch.

Thereafter, the raid will reset every 72 hours as expected.

We’ve definitely heard a lot of feedback from players that bursting down larger and larger pulls has become an overly dominant tactic in much of the game. This is particularly evident in questing and dungeons, which has made it difficult for many classes to find a clear role.

While there are a number of variables contributing to this trend, high burst area of effect (AOE) damage against an unlimited number of targets has made it increasingly possible for players to take down large groups of enemies without the players ever facing a proportionate level of danger. In Shadowlands, we’re looking at changes that would broaden the field of tactical options, and in the process, more clearly differentiate the strengths of classes in a variety of AOE situations.

For example, we’d like to see Outlaw Rogues or Fury Warriors excel in situations with 4 to 5 targets in close proximity to each other, while ranged casters like Frost Mages or Affliction Warlocks perform better in susta...
