Not quite, I am a Product Manager for a company called Hadean Supercomputing Ltd. Although we did do some work with CCP and Eve.

I had a call a couple of weeks ago for someone at Jagex as there phone system was still forwarding calls to my mobile. Can’t seem to escape them.

This thread highlights my point perfectly. When I said what I did I was refering to major groundbreaking content (DMM, New Skill, Zeah). The reason I think there will be no groundbreaking content is because Jagex beleive the community won't vote for it and the community find it difficult to think outside of the box to come up with and support new groundbreaking content (this post being the case in point as it is talking about a change to the drop table rather than something new).

• prove to be stable and have a good performance on modern and old PCs (Runelite GPU plugin perform very well and this HD project is being built on top of it)

• be totally free and open source

Could it use the original HD textures?

I don't see why not.

The biggest problem with most OSHD clients was the technology behind it, not the assets. Hell, if it had worked we would have used it. Sadly the OSHD code was not up to scratch for a commercial company and making it so would have meant opening hooks into the code which could've been exploited by bots.

I think the OSHD client mentioned below tripped a whole lot of bot detection systems so would not have been workable either.

This may well be different, will be good to see where it goes.

This made me turn on my bot farm, but BH was closed.

That's good news, the "let's sort it out once and for all" approach is the right one in my book.

One of the reasons I stood in the way of a BH update when I was at Jagex is because I felt that PvP as a whole needed a strategy and the BH update should form a step forward in making PvP as a whole better. Now, this may have happened and there is a strategy that I just can't decipher yet, but the risk I saw of just using it to paper over the cracks and it unravelling seems to be happening.

On another note, I don't think this has anything to do with Gambit personally so that bit is very unfair.

So targeting an individual Jmod is nothing new and has been happening since OSRS started. Yes, it is not nice and leads to sleepless nights; but the bit that irks me is talking about it leading to reduced engagement. That feels like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

We could track them to different message boards, log in info from in game accounts etc.

What we found was a lot of the "protesters" in game and on Reddit were not OSRS players but people from homophobic hate groups. Unfortunately, they got their way and there hasn't been a celebration of LGBTQ since. The use of the word 'gay' as an insult is still something that is prevelent online which I feel is wrong.
