Fifthing the questions about hitreg and desync, will those issues not be fixed until release?
they will, the team is pretty confident they have the fixes

That means the next update (next week) is going to be a big one (possibly new map) since that will be the last patch before launch date since we are following the bi-weekly patch system like LoL and there's only 12 days away from launch date.CONFIRMED NO PATCH COMING. EVERYTHING WILL BE ADDED TO RELEASE
Probably no patch next week, which makes launch day patch a big 'ol one. Looking at the incoming drafts now... It's going to be fun.
Yay OCE! Great to at least have a solid date. But... WHAt aboUt tHE bETa CoSmeTicS? (Also the 20% VP is good as well)
Some may say that they aren't that good, but come on, you can't tell me that "First" is a bad title.
/u/RiotArkem - Thanks for the heads up on the Support for OCE thread. Perhaps maybe clarification on beta cosmetics + 20% extra VP above?
we're getting this information out tomorrow
Been having a problem with planting and defusing the spike for the past month or so. If I have the spike and walk into the area to plant, it automatically starts planting without me pushing any buttons and I can’t cancel it when it starts. Keep getting killed from this and the same thing happens with defusing. Many rounds lost and want to see this fixed. I can submit clips of this if necessary.
what button is planting the spike bound to? try changing it and see
Missed ya buddy!
alright I missed you
Read morehonestly appreciate the answer and the points you're making are all valid to me - and I don't expect you to answer this, but the question that remains is: why not have solo/duo on top of flex and clash if it works in league?
is that system not considered to be 'working' over there?
I've heard many people here say that flex is going to turn into a joke as soon as solo/duo gets introduced, but honestly, nothing fundamentally changes when it does. yes, people will take it less seriously and it will be seen as a 'secondary' queue, but the reason it'd be viewed as unimportant like in league is that ranks simply don't mean anything when they can just be achieved by stacking. its like a legal boosting service. a solo queue won't give less meaning to your dynamic rank, it already has none.
have a solo/duo ladder, have a team ladder. there's no way this games' player numbers won't be able to support both, at the very least in lower ratings (say below immortal?). alte...
Hey I dig this whole conversation and appreciate you. I’ll just say to your top level concerns and requests (“f*ck it just give us split queues”) I think we agree. It’s definitely a matter of implementation and what we have coming in the future. Let’s check in in a few months (no not S6).
For the sake of argument on the boosting topic though, I do think it’s harder to get carried in V and a team that chooses to carry a weaker player might do so because that friend brings alternative value like strategic brains (the IGL forgiveness), some intangibles like positive vibes (lol), or maybe it’s outright loyalty, sure.
But if I queue against a team and there’s a weak link, I exploit it - it’s easier to identify them (the joys of unique agent silhouettes), and skill imbalances net out quickly. I might get in trouble for saying this, but I do think V is different than League or OW where sometimes math can win or you can narrow down/pair up the skillset so...
Read moreAll jokes aside, the communications from you guys have been spectacular. I really like the transparency and direction the game is going. I hope the ranking system isn't set in stone but either way I feel like I'm in good hands.
ty bruv, keep up the feedback especially when you don't like things. We're listening and appreciate the framing of the conversation this way.
Am I back? Have I returned? Is this real life????
oh god no
you're on the valorant team now, right? as someone who previously worked on league, what makes you think this queue system is gonna work better in valorant than it did in season 6 league? not to mention that the highest rank doesn't work like chall, where you're rank x out of y. you hit val, you're kinda just done. is that part of the system WIP or is it here to stay?
I think this is an issue of many competitive needs (and audiences) and only only carrot to serve them. You want a true solo queue that you can grind and show a rank you earned through your solo play (and a guarantee that everyone else did too), others want a competitive experience they can queue up with teammates (3/4/5) and they want that shared badge. Some people want both and they want a high-stakes 'train for this moment' thing (see: Clash).
We have one carrot, we should have many carrots. That's the real answer - we need more/different forms of competition, of which solo queue may fit somewhere in there.
Alright, how about a flaming hot answer you can roast me on: if we had only one competitive queue, should it be dynamic or solo/duo only? Honestly I personally do think it should be dynamic.
I totally get the function and value of a solo queue for scouting or for evaluating individual performance, but I think if you...

this is all a ploy to get my face back on a round square table
ooh baby I can't ever forget this
What'd you expect? There's going to be kind and constructive feedback, and you're going to receive angry, unnecessary feedback. That's just the way it goes. Don't cry about it.
I for one have been experiencing my share of issues with vanguard and I generally don't support softwares that just starts on pc boot, however I'm hoping it will improve in time.
I'm not crying about it but I also don't accept lack of empathy as a standard of the internet. This is me establishing boundaries and communicating boundaries: don't be an asshole please, let's have a constructive conversation :)
This is why voicing our opinion was important, Riot listened even if they will still resort to driver bans in some cases.
Glad they didn't go "if you don't like it, uninstall it" like some redditors around here
okay yes but stop sending our anti-cheat lead emails that start with "listen up you f*ck"

NO KEEP PRAISING PLEASE THERE ARE HUMANS CRAVING LOVE WHO ARE WORKING IN QUARANTINE AHHHHHHHH
Theres a screenshot that shows some really low prices for skins, the imperium melee is only 450.
the screenshot's flubbed, dev prices are just all over the place so I wouldn't take this as an indication of anything
/u/pwyff something to pass along to the appropriate team
we sees it
I just think it would have been nice to send some invites out to people who signed up on announcement day who have clearly been waiting the longest to get in.
real talk we wanted to, but since we were only collecting emails on the website we couldn't quite partition or target correctly for closed beta.
tl;dr the technology wasn't there but we were trying for it because I agree with you
Thanks for taking the time to calm us down. I have two questions:
Are the drops attributed to random people at random times or do you send waves of X whitelists?
How can I convince insecure self that, despite of not having missed more than 30 minutes of drop windows, creating multiple accounts is not the right thing to do?
I have a question because your post and the website has got me wondering, if I really do watch say 80~hrs of partnered streams, and I stop watching, can I still receive a drop in my twitch inventory? Or you have to actively be watching in order to be eligible for that wave of drops?
nope we see you - take a break, you'll (hopefully) eventually have one sitting in your inbox when you get back (or check your email)
If you do this again, would you please make it a little more obvious that someone is entered in the beta key lottery? I've seen a lot of people watch hours of streams just to realize they were never properly entered. I think the website should have " CONNECT YOUR RIOT ACCOUNT WITH TWITCH" greyed out to show you're connected correctly, or maybe on Twitch say "YOU are eligible for drops from this stream"
Edit: Apparently that "Drops Enabled" bit at the bottom of the stream only appears if you have a linked acount. I had no idea.
yeah... technically this has been a challenge. Definitely a lesson to prioritize clarity.
