Firstly, I want to bring up the issue of cosmetic sales after the Kickstarter campaign. This has caused frustration among supporters who believed the game was already fully funded. The addition of FOMO-style sales may bring in extra revenue, but it is not a good look for a game that claims to be transparent and community-focused. It is important to remember that the community is the reason why the game is even in development, and they deserve to be treated with respect and honesty.


To be absolutely clear here, Intrepid said they were going to have monthly cosmetic packs pre-launch right from just after the kickstarter.

They said this well before they ever said the games development was fully funded. Intrepid maintaining monthly cosmetic packs is them keeping their word to those that joined early - they have a choice each month to purchase...

Thanks for the feedback.

Generally I try to keep an eye on this, but if I do sprinkle in some God mode, I think a bit of mystery/theory-crafting is acceptable and not disruptive for the community.

As the demonstrations grow closer to a fully comprehensive showcase of combat/gameplay you will begin to see less God mode utilized. (Except for insane health, need to keep the camera man alive).

With the release of the verbal NDA, I'd like to share this thread to the community, so they have some insight to the testing that is ongoing in the Ashes Alpha One Preview testing.

It's important to note, that the Alpha One experience is not meant to be a content test. But rather, standing up core systems in their bare bones state and vetting our technical architectures, while providing the opportunity for us to optimize and squash bugs.

Hello friends, a quick clarification on the shop cosmetics.

There will not be recolors or material swaps on the monthly cosmetics as a means to populate additional achievements in game by player characters. There will however be variants of the cosmetics for NPC populations including quest-givers, guards, merchants and creatures. Additionally, from an armor standpoint, we cut armor sets up into many different pieces. These pieces can sometimes be used as part of other sets, that may include helmets, wrists, gloves etc. So while you will not see an achievable white version of the corvid castigator set in the game for example, you may see its shoulder piece used in another set, or its leggings, or wrist piece used in another set (not every piece as to form the whole set, but perhaps a couple pieces). I will give some further insight here.

One of the main reasons for evaluating the pretests prior to opening up A1 sales again was to see the stability of the multi server selection code, and how our individual server deployments held up. That, along with our world concurrency and individual server performances did indeed hold up to our expectation, and gives me the first green light for consideration of opening future sales. Hello frands,

To clarify, this decision was made with much deliberation and only after I was certain that Intrepid would be able to launch EU and NA at the same time. The task ahead is most certainly a difficult one and will require much work and commitment. But part of my compass for navigating the Intrepid ship is to listen to the players, especially when that message is clearly focused.

It’s also very important to keep in mind that this action was taken with mutual agreement from both the Intrepid side and My.Games. Too often we forget our kindness on the internet, and despite whatever history My.games may have with their previously published titles, the people at the my.games office are good people and gamers like ourselves. So while we can be happy about this development and the adventure it entails for Ashes, let’s collectively wish our friends at My.games good luck in their own journey forward and keep our attitudes positive for both parties :)

Mage's Detection- the symbol to me appears to be the "all knowing, all seeing eye" minus the tear; first encountered this symbol for the god Isis back in D&D.

Slightly off base, but i appreciate the Tentacles mage spell; reminds me Evard's Black Tentacles.

Another spell that reminds me of the good ole days is Safe Place, I knew the spell as Rope Trick. The extra dimensional space use to have a rope hanging down that you could pull up into the dimensional space and take a breather and heal up.

After thinking about it the Portal spell seems vaguely reminiscent Dimension Door. Not quite sure of the range but i am sure i could utilize this nice.
