Appreciated! I can always tell someone is truly selfless if they keep someone like me around.
@bookauthority Awesome! Thank you. Some good looking books on that list too.
#RimWorldHotPotato was a fun event

@kpmh2001 @oisinruiz Not at all, a video game is exactly the place to explore dark impulses and thoughts in a safe and harmless environment.
Integration>suppression/denial
@rocket2guns (yes I played Dungeon Keeper II in 1999, I miss it!)
@JonUmber_ @DarkestDungeon I thought of DD, but do the heroes ever express fear really?
And for them even the overworld town is horrifying. Terrible local dentists apparently.
@oisinruiz It only happens if you're doing it!
RimWorld is just a mirror.
@rocket2guns Man as plot holes go in this concept that's just the start of it
Maybe there's a game in a satirical 'dungeon manager' game where you keep the candles lit and the monsters fed
Imagine an RPG dungeon was actually real. It would be unbelievably terrifying. People going into a dark unmapped tunnel network where they mostly get torn apart, poisoned, and burned to death by hideous creatures.
Every fantasy RPG is a horror game.
@Rhopunzel Sounds like FUN!
@LudeonStudios: Ludeon Studios is hiring! We're a small creative team with remote work options and absolutely no crunch. We're looking fâŚ
Great creativity requires not just effort and talent, but also courage.
The last one doesn't get talked about enough imo.
@raphkoster @tobowers One can have fun without learning, or learning without fun, so Crawford's definition doesn't make sense to me as stated.
I also think it would be strange to say fun isn't emotion. It's basically a very vague label for a collection of triumph/pride/competitive/social emotions
@No_Tables Nah, they look beautiful. Super dramatic
@tobowers @raphkoster Yes, you're right, those are good examples of emotional moments from games.
No need for any kind of fictional narrative to be involved at all. You still feel something about it.
I doubt Raph and I really disagree, we're probably just coming at it from different angles.
@jgajek Rough estimate from self-observation both with and without a good working setup. I get a LOT more done with good gear; 8% may be an underestimate.
I like the Embody chair myself.
Good office gear is such a smart investment. Cost of ownership of a quality long-lasting chair is very cheap. It gives you like +8% free productivity (one month per year!). It can save you from decades of back pain.
Invest in your gear!
The great thing about Aerons is they are maybe the most famous/popular high end chair ever. Every startup used them. There are places online that sell all the parts and endless Youtube videos to show you how to adjust/repair them. Aerons are like Mustangs.
From @thegamerwebsite 10 details in RimWorld they love
This is a problem with accepting the judgment of any group of experts. They have an inherent conflict of interest.
A thoughful outsider may have less detailed knowledge, but also may be more directly seeking the truth - and that can matter more.
