Disable DX12 in option if it's on. DX12 buged from game realis and generate a lot of crashes. And try to do "File check" through Uplay.
These are great tips to start trying to troubleshoot the issue! Are you noticing this happening at any particular points in the game? Have you tried any other sort of troubleshooting?

I remember reading a sci fi story... the ship's AI was talking to artificial intelligence guided missiles, and the missiles were asking what happens after their mission is over (and they blow up on target). It was kind of sad.
I still chuck them seeker mines at the enemy, no problem.

I for one entirely agree with the sentiments raised - I love this game but this mode is lazy, poorly executed and above all tedious.

I loved getting a new Gameboy Advance game and reading through the manuals. Back when there was more than just controls, like a little blurb about the story or some flavour text about enemies.
