currently it doesnt even alert them if they are in a calm patrol state.

they do get semi-alerted, they go into a "suspicious" state. there is just no voiceover or unique animations for that kind of stuff yet. but the logic exists

What do you make of it?

My guess.. something was not loaded into memory I reckon. And it is requesting a load of some asset which blocks the game until it's complete. And you said you have stable frame rates above 60, so it's probably not any game specific code. Since long freezes are commonly attributed to loading. The annoying thing is we won't be able to reproduce this issue on our machines since this is a rare occurrence and the first time we've heard of this, so we won't know the true cause.

It was a bug and it has been fixed. Wasnt the fault of mod.io, it was us. We're sorry for this inconvenience. It must've been annoying. Will be pushed out in the next update

We have a bunch of more maps on the way!

I recommend Fairfax swat 4 remake and Lustful Remorse. Good maps

ok, we'll take this feature out. thanks for your feedback

Did you read

We still need to figure out a way to differentiate between different types of mods or detect gameplay altering mods, so that you can still use a weapon skin mod or any other non-gameplay altering mod.

So the reason why we don't save scores when the game is modded is due to the fact that a gameplay altering mod could make the game significantly easier to beat, and there'd be no way to tell if you've gotten a legit S rank or not.

For example, someone could make a weapon skin mod and then sneak in an AI mod that, let's say, makes them immediately surrender on sight and could easily win the game that way.

We know this sucks but we haven't found a reliable solution yet, so this is on the backburner for now.

Also, we want to keep the official vanilla scores too, just so there isn't any confusion if you achieved that score with a gameplay altering mod or not. But the idea of recording unofficial scores would be neat as well, that can be implemented.
