Hi all,

We've deployed an update. Thank you for your patience today as we worked through these issues!

Bug fixes:

  • Players outside of North America can now download and play Crucible.
  • Players will now be properly directed to their nearest datacenter.
  • Fixed a bug that kept the tutorial game mode selected even after the tutorial has been completed. Players who complete the tutorial will now see the Heart of the Hives mode automatically selected after completing the tutorial.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from receiving unlock notifications for purchases.
  • Fixed an occasional server crash.

Thanks for your patience with this. As a heads-up, we're posting updates to our Twitter and in our Discord. Download outside of NA is still not available as of 3pm Pacific, but it's our top priority.

We won't have a public API at launch. It's something we'd like to put out eventually, but I can't offer a timeline as of yet.

It's not set as a hard limit, but putting a 4 stack against any other group composition is a last resort. It's fairly easy for us to configure on the fly and we'll be monitoring matchmaking data at launch to dial it in.

Thanks for helping spread the word, /r/chikipichi!

We have a lot planned on the marketing side that I can't go into, but what I will say is that our gameplay embargo for content creators and press lifts on May 19. Stay tuned. :)

In Alpha Hunters you can queue with one other player (2 players total in a team). If you queue solo, you'll get a partner via matchmaking that's in your skill range.

In Heart of the Hives and Harvester Command, you can queue with up to 4 players. You'll always get players from matchmaking added to create a full 4 player roster. If you queue solo, matchmaking adds 3. If you queue with a friend, matchmaking adds 2. If you queue with 3, matchmaking adds 1. If you queue with 4, you're good to go!

Final note, our matchmaking system prioritizes putting players of similar team sizes against each other. So a 4 stack will face 4 stacks, trios + 1 will face other trios +1, and so on.

Going to be interesting to see how this game plays out since both teams will probably be engaged on the hive AND each other at the same time. Can either wait for them to kill and steal the heart, apply pressure on them while the hive is attacking them, etc. Looking forwards to seeing more details on how the Hive itself interacts with multiple people.

You're not only dealing with the hive and enemy players, but also other objectives (events/harvesters), and sometimes even a second hive! Macro is a huge part of the mode.

Totally agree. I think it will depend on match length. Maybe it goes pretty quick since it's one life for all. Unlock 100 player battle royales maybe you don't lose too much time if you die early.

Alpha Hunters matches vary somewhat in length, but are generally less than 15 mins.
