i honestly don't know that i have a great answer for that.

those decisions are by people that are not my team and then we just pass that info on to you guys.

like if you stop to think about it, our seasons have historically had 100 tier battle passes so i'm guessing that's part of it. since it's not a full BP, it's not really a full season.

we're just messengers. i'm sure someone, somewhere knows. but i am not that someone. :)

It's not a pop up on login.

It's the box above the list of

• Campaign
• Multiplayer
• Academy
• Custom Game

And it cycles through various news items like maintenance updates (if applicable - will usually have the wrench and cog overlay on the asset), Ultimate Rewards, Shop, etc.

This box with "Ranked Doubles & Team Doubles" is the MOTD carousel.

When you boot up the game there's a carousel of in-game news that usually contains info about playlist updates, playlists being down for maintenance, etc.

We do try to proactively message out via the MOTD if we know there's going to be something like Ranked being offline temporarily so if something looks weird, definitely worth checking that carousel first to see if it's there.
