that sounds insanely odd. do you have a video of this? the gun at the feet actually indicates to me an issue where the character model failed to load and is probably not the same as this instance but would be good to see anyway if you have it

oh interesting. good callout yeah i only saw through the clip, and i just saw the whole round and you're right. someone else in the thread also shared an instance of this where we could see a spectre with the same issue, not just the silhouette through the wall but also the "tearing and falling" of the paper too. im collecting all of these examples for the team so the more we have the better it will be for us to understand.

thanks for this report. the more instances and examples we have of this the better. That there shows up as a clear example of the issue we see with BlastX where the wrapping paper stretches.

A couple of notes to address here:
For BlastX, there is a known issue where you can see an ally's weapon during buy phase if they buy, sell, and rebuy the weapon. As far as we have seen this is only something that occurs from buying/rebuying the weapon and nothing else and so it should never be visible during a round. Additionally with that bug you only see the wrapping paper, not the gun.

In this screenshot, the weapon in question looks like a vandal, which would eliminate this from being a BlastX issue anyway.

Either way this shouldnt happen ever and we'll be looking into it

unfortunately no. that was a really old collection and something we needed for beta to make sure we had enough content, though looking back we're not proud of it and it doesnt represent our best work. if we were to release that we would want to restart that and take a different approach

one thing to consider for more of these is gun choice. with 1.0 and 2.0 we've covered a phantom and a vandal already, and ideally we wouldnt want a repeat of those since players would ideally want to have a full set. like we saw with glitchpop 1.0, the theme was cool but the guns were not and so we wouldnt want players to go through that again

definitely! we had a lot of crazy ideas for Oni and we delivered on something we felt like would be a broad appeal for that theme, but I think we can go in a few different directions if we were to revisit it

unfortunately no. we know it was a mistake to not do variants in that line and if we did a 1.1 or 2.0 release of that set we'd definitely want to improve them. what sort of changes would you want to see in ion variants? we heard some players asking for as little as just changes to the blue effects. would you want more than that or is even just a color change enough?

Have you considered making the different animations chance? Something like how there are multiple animations in CS, just depending on RNG. The Prime 2.0 melee could occasionally alternate between the different pullout/inspect animations after being upgraded, so that both groups are pleased. It even adds a feeling of satisfaction that you 'got the lucky animation'.

we did an RNG thing with glichtpop and the vfx colors/logos and players really loved that, so we've recently come up with a system to allow us to do that for animations too :) naturally though because its a recent thing, we wont have a skin out for a while that will utilize it. but its on our list!

the moment you say ice themed, i think of a way to insert another "breaking" easter egg into a melee like with what we did for the winterwunderland melee :D

Melee variants are a thing we never originally planned to do so what you're seeing in terms of current releases are things that were already done by the time we decided to add them. we will be adding variants to some melee weapons in the future when it makes sense or doesnt impact our schedules too drastically. we want to deliver awesome content to you but the more we make the longer it takes

we'll still be getting new themes of course, theres tons of ideas we're super excited to roll out soon! at the same time we want to offer more for players who are into a thing that already exists so there will be some select bundles that will get more

we have to be careful with our melee weapon sizes. on one hand, our melee system is not really the greatest atm and itd be pretty feelsbad to have a large weapon that swings across your screen, only to miss because your crosshair isnt on the player. additionally from a 3rd person perspective we dont want you to have a weapon that gives you away when others typically would not. would suck to have a big sword sticking around a corner you know

Gun buddies are nice, but they’re a much smaller change than csgo stickers, and I love csgo’s limitless combo potentiometer in their skins.

we've talked about it. The trouble that comes along with that is how do we ensure a sticker could be usable per skin or variant. I think the biggest example we've pointed to is glichpop. that thing is already COVERED in stickers, where else would we put another. thats not to say we wouldnt do it, we just dont have a good solution for it yet
