in Orlando they sold the Funkos for $10 to anyone. Some people bought them by the case.
By Philly a limit was put in place to prevent folks from doing this. Demand was higher than anticipated I reckon.

smooth but with lines. not horrific, but not a breeze either.
Overall we were happy with the operational improvements between Orlando and Philly. For the most part, the experiences were moving solidly in Philly with avg. wait times well below Orlando. VR remains a bit of a challenge as there's just not much else to be done there to increase throughput, but the teams are continuing to work on it and explore additional options. You'll also see additional content and offerings elsewhere, which is helping to ease some of the crowds in the experiences (more stage programming, expanded marketplace content, community panels in the center of the venue, etc..)
I heard the horror stories from the Orlando show and went in with very low expectations. However, I'm pleased to say that my friends and I had a phenomenal experience. We spent about 7 hours on the floor and did almost everything. Lines were manageable, merch prices were reasonable and getting to play Halo Reach on PC was nearly worth the admission cost on its own. Outpost Discovery is the first gaming convention I've ever been too but it's been great so far. It's definitely motivated me to look into ComicCon/Cosplay.
That being said, I wouldn't waste your time with the App. It's a buggy mess. Also, if you're going on Saturday...may the prophets guide you on your journey. I was told they sold 2500 tickets for Friday and 3500 for Saturday. (tickets are sold out) and I expect lines will be rough. Good luck.
EDIT: If you can't do everything because of lines skip the "Ring Experience". If you've ever played a Halo game you'll basically already know everything they tel...
Glad to hear you enjoyed your experience! The Herschend team (the group running this entire event) really did great work updating and improving based on feedback coming out of Orlando.
Super pumped to go tomorrow. Only have a one day VIP so hopefully can get in as much as possible.
Definitely get there early and maximize the extra time you get with VIP
Schedule was just posted to the website : here
What is the location? Is it within the theme park itself or elsewhere?
In Orlando, there was a large registration/check-in area up front where guests picked up tickets. I imagine it'll be similar for the other cities.
It really wasn’t. The VIP tag didn’t really do much at all. Not even the vip lounge was worth it. There was not even food or drinks in the lounge, you had to leave it inorder to get food and there was a soda drink station but it required you to have already bought the cup from inside the event to get refills. The f**king cup was 25 dollars 😭.
The drink and food situation was addressed by the team on Saturday AM, sorry it was disappointing for you on Friday. Each convention center is different, but they are already working through changes and improvements to the VIP area based on feedback and learnings from Orlando. Funko Pop can be purchased separately at the retail area (while supplies last). Personally I'd say the biggest perk to the VIP is the early / extra access (shorter lines/less people) and the 6 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
You guys only care about streamers, and it shows.
Really? The HCS Grassroots folks who were among the first to sign up for the Insider program and spend their time trying to help grow Halo? Or the HCS pros who devoted their lives to Halo? About 5/6 of the people in this flight are “streamers” the rest are “regular” Insiders. sorry you didn’t get selected (but 99% of registered insiders didn’t get into this flight either)
Why is it so low? I was expecting 500~
It's more than 100. But, relatively speaking, it's a tiny % of the total Insider population (which has reached crazy levels of opt-ins).
95 of the 100 are streamers or youtubers
Nah - some may be, but this isn't about just filling it up with streamers - it's not a marketing driven program. Of course we've invited a few of those folks who we have relationships with because we'd love their participation now/later. Flight participants will be allowed to stream though, so I do expect a lot of that at least initially (it's only one mission, so not sure it has a ton of stickiness to it).
I would imagine around the 3rd/4th flight will have a substantial expansion. By then they would be somewhat comfortable with it hopefully.
Now this is a realistic expectation I can get behind!
Please understand that these first flights are going to be incredibly small. There could be a possibility that less than 100 people could get into the first flight, and unknown amounts for future events thereafter. Please understand that not everyone can get in, not even an 8th of the people currently online when I type this could get in.
In before everyone grabs the pitchforks and starts burning pizzas in protest.... :(
The flight is looking 99.9% like it's happening today. It's more than 100 people but only a TINY FRACTION of the registered Halo Insider population. I hate to say this but almost everyone in this subreddit who is eager and angry realistically won't get into this first flight just based on the odds. I'm not great at math but we're talking about a very tiny percentage of the eligible Insider audience. I don't like it anymore than you all do and it's a blessing and curse of having overwhelming interest and sign-ups. We have to start small and it will grow over time and more people will be added in subsequent flights with the team's goal being to still ensure that eventually everyone who is eligible and interested will get a chance to participate. But if you're hitting refresh on your inbox every minute and planning your entire weekend around this flight, I'd strongly encourage you to consider ...
Read morewhere my sadbois at on the xbox.... we prob not getting any flights considering the game runs f**kin buttery on backwards compatibility
Reach on Xbox will get flight(s) at some point, PC is just the primary focus as it's an entirely different beast and much more complex.
"Coming this month" "Coming next month" "Coming this week" "Coming in the second half of this week" :(
You know, you could just ignore everything we post and say and just wait and be surprised ;)
Once you get an invite to the flight, are you in for all of the following flights for Reach?
Great question - I think the current answer is... maybe? In general I'd tend to think that yes, active participants in a flight will be rolled into the next flight (while people who no-show / don't participate, would be removed). But there could also be scenarios where the flght goals and focus changes so much that it doesn't totally make sense to include people from a prior flight.
Love to see communication like that from devs.
Will the first round of flighting have an NDA?
Current POR is looking like no NDA will be in place so expect plenty of streaming and bragging to occur. ;)
I'd like to see stuff tied to achievements from previous games, like Reach did via the original Waypoint app. In addition, maybe something tied to total Halo gamerscore as well, like the career milestones. I'm working my way towards getting every Halo achievement, it would be nice to have something to show off in the game.
it's been loosely discussed - I don't think the team will be able to get too crazy, just a lot of legacy dependencies on aging services. Personally I think it would be straightforward to identify someone who has 100% achievement completion on MCC, for example, but more nuanced accomplishments in older games will be more challenging.
Will you still get the item if you reach 152 after Halo Infinite comes out?
No idea, since this was sort of ad hoc revealed on last year's live stream, the final implementation and actual plans haven't been locked. I'll flag this as an open question - to me, it shouldn't matter when the rank is earned, playing is playing and the time was still spent - but I'm not responsible for designing the system. :)
This has been mentioned before, but just to reiterate - the grind to 152 is very intensive and time consuming. Real talk that there's no way that whatever the team ends up offering as a token in Halo Infinite will truly equate to the amount of investment needed to get there. While we do still want to recognize players who have reached max level in Halo 5, the team is also looking at other criteria and ways to also acknowledge activity and tenure in other titles and milestones (MCC, etc..).
We're sure cutting it close to make good on the "Insider flighting will begin in June!"
It does sound like the pre-flight has passed so fingers crossed this will get underway this week. I did want to reiterate what I've been saying everywhere - the first flight is going to be SMALL. Like a drop in the bucket small, compared to the vast amount of Halo Insiders we have signed up. The reality is that the vast majority of folks will not get into the first flight and as such I'd expect there to be a good deal of frustration and disappointment. Please just remember this is a marathon, not a sprint (no, we're not porting Marathon to MCC). Getting the first Insider flight out the door is a huge milestone and things should start picking up in scope and pace afterwards. The number of people that get added to future Insider flights will grow over time along with the scope of what's being flighted. The first flight will really be an updated and more polished version of the E3 demo - ...
