I also cannot speak to the perf different between dedi and non-dedi but if you only noticed the issues when you got to hundreds of tames you can mitigate that by putting those tames in cryofridges. That'd definitely help your server run smoother.

Personally, I prefer hosting the server in a dedicated mode as it is easier for friends to join when I'm not around.

In my completely unbiased

opinion you should totally get it.

Unfortunately, I don't know the file/save sizes on PS4 as most of my work is done on PC. =\

Supposedly this was fixed a few months later but this was related to the custom recipe disaster that allowed you to craft turrets for berries and the like. For all we know some folks have found a way to gain admin on the official clusters again and are keeping it on the down low. f**king nuts if true. I wouldn’t mind a full wipe tbh if true.

I can confirm that is not true. If someone was doing that it'd immediately set off some red flags I set up.

I know that some of the server command pages could only be updated by employees, because some of those commands have never been discussed publicly.

Or we just told them about the commands so they could be updated.

In any case, this post wasn't meant to be a discussion about cryopods yes/no, just a suggestion for a workaround for the new kibble system since right now is not really profitable to risk to imprint 100% anything less than a very good rex/giga or such, because extraordinary kibble is so difficult to make.

I think you have to add "-ActiveEvent=WinterWonderland" to the Launcher Args.

I get it. And I don't envy your job, I understand that a player base such as this can be very demanding. There also isn't a nice way to tell people 'hey this isn't really a question u need to waste my time on, your solution is on google', but even that would be better than radio silence.

I tried that for a while tbh. But keep in mind that 300 messages was just overnight. Not including what came in throughout the day. Just reading all those messages takes hours much less responding to them all. It just isn't feasible to respond to all that unfortunately. I do what I can.

60,000 players per day, on Steam alone. Not including Xbox, not including PS4.
There are roughly 60 employees (employees -- not developers) at WildCard. That's one employee per 1,000 users, IF they are all answering questions. It is much more likely that there are one or two people actively answering questions while people are doing the actual work of programming/fixing/running company business.
So, for each person actively answering questions, there are 30,000 Steam users to support. Again, not including Xbox or PS4 users.

Now, Reddit is just one outlet where they can answer questions. Then there's Facebook. And Instagram. And so on.
Most of the time, they're already aware of the problem -- should they answer all 30,000 inquiries when something goes wrong, and cover every conceivable outlet to answer questions?

Most people are generally unaware of the logistics involved, and have probably never been involved in tech support.

I actually used to respond to all DMs I got on discord until one day where I checked and had 300 DMs waiting for me when I logged in. It really really cuts into the time I have to do work when I have to answer everyone. Usually it is questions that could be answered by googling. :(

I still answer what I can but I had to cut myself off or I'd get no work done.

Fortunately, that's not actually something that can happen due to other safeguards we have in place.

Sorry mate, that's not my department. Also, I'm pretty sure that's just a visual thing and I doubt you can actually exploit anything with it.

Haha, of course that's not possible. Let me just pull up this data to prove how impossible that is.

Oh, wait. Crap.

The good news is that they definitely use HWID bans depending on the severity.

Meshing sounds like a good way to get both accounts banned, but what do I know. There is an official report process to be used so the Enforcement team can find and ban players with mesh bases if that's what you're trying to clear.

Sure, but make sure to give him a big character model.

Playing against a good genji in overwatch always felt like ass because his hitbox is tiny and they'd always be in the air.

Agree with everything Drew said in the OP, but it's not just around buildings it feels bads. Out in an open field, if one player has to aim on an X/Y axis, and one player has to aim on the X/Y/Z then the dude who's double jumping always has the advantage. Think about fortnite shotguns. Tell me if you've ever seen the 'good' shotgunners stay on the ground while they're shooting.

You're just harder to hit at all points of the game if you have double jump.

So either give them a bigger hitbox as a drawback or just don't do it. Pathfinder already fills this niche to some degree, but his drawback is he's limited by his terrain.

TL;DR - it's harder to aim at someone up/down/left/right than it is to aim at someone left/right only. Pls no double jump champ.

Alternatively, add a cooldown to the double jump.
