As the one responsible for this hilarious bug, i have no idea how this is even possible =D . But i have seen similar issues with animals somehow getting attached to players and vice versa.

They sometimes do that, don't worry, there are boss location markers in several dungeons, keep looking :)
Do you accept videos? I made an obnoxious MLG-style hunting montage + a random troll attack + mistakenly exploring the plains in bronze armor. I can edit out the spicy gamer language.
