Hardcore Realms

New Classic Era Hardcore realms will open at 3:00 p.m. PDT on August 24.

When a player-character dies on a Hardcore realm, they cannot resurrect or be resurrected by any other spell or ability. After death, the player-character continues to exist in the game world as a ghost to facilitate communication with in-game friends and resolve logistical matters. The character is not necessarily lost, however. After dying on a Hardcore realm, players will be able to choose to utilize the Free Character Move service and move their dead character to a non-Hardcore Classic Era realm. Once the move is complete to the non-hardcore realm, that character may resurrect as normal.

On Hardcore realms, players are not automatically flagged for PvP upon attacking another player. To flag yourself for PvP, you must type the command /pvp.  You won’t be able to take hostile actions against a flagged enemy player unless you flag y...

A new public event, Dreamsurges, will be available with the World of Warcraft Fury Incarnate update on September 5. The growth of a new World Tree is causing the energies of the Emerald Dream to manifest throughout the Dragon Isles. Defeat the chaos brought about by the Druids of the Flame for rewards.

Honor your legacy with two new Heritage Armor sets—one for undead and one for night elves—with the release of the Fury Incarnate content update. Players will also have new skin colors for undead characters, and night elf characters will have new facial markings and body tattoos to choose from.


Forsaken Heritage Armor and New Skin Customizations

Players level 50 and above can begin their journey toward acquiring the new Forsaken Champion Heritage Armor by speaking to Lilian Voss in the Ruins of Lordaeron and beginning the quest “Unliving Summons.” On completion, you’ll receive the Forsaken Champion’s Attire (ensemble) which includes two chest pieces, cloak, waist, feet, wrist, head, hands, legs, shoulder, and a new tabard.

Beginning with the month of September and each month through December, the Trading Post will be introducing new transmogs sets and new transmog weapon sets specific to each class.  Each armor set comes with three pieces: helm, shoulder, and belt, and each weapon set comes with 3 weapons to match each discipline—with the exception of Druids having 4 and Demon Hunters with 2.

You’ll be able to purchase these items with any class character to add to your transmog collection. Keep in mind that only the intended class will be able to use the armor set transmogs and weapon set transmogs. Armor sets will be available to purchase for 450 Trader’s Tender each, and weapon sets will be available to purchase for 500 Trader’s Tender each. Here’s what you can look forward to in the months ahead.

WoW Classic Updates Ahead

Classic Era

Prepare for a new era of PvP when the 1.14.4 content update goes live on August 22.  With the arrival of this update, please be advised that your region's weekly maintenance period during the week of August 15 will be the final time that Honor updates will be performed before the old system is retired. Any ranking progress you make after that date will not be retained after 1.14.4 is released on August 22.
