Testing Focus

Blackwing Lair and Zul’Gurub

In Season of Discovery, Blackwing Lair is a 20-40 player raid dungeon and Zul’gurub is a 10-20 player raid dungeon. Blackwing Lair is tuned for 20 players but will allow up to 40 players inside the dungeon, and Zul’Gurub is tuned for 10 players but will allow up to 20 inside. The difficulty will not scale or change, and the number of loot drops does not increase or decrease based on the number of participants in the raid.

You will be able to speak with an NPC to port directly into Blackwing Lair or Zul’Gurub from Stormwind or Orgri...

Classic Era and Hardcore

• The Guilds user interface has been updated to provide more ease of Guild management.
• Alliance players now have access to the Might of Stormwind, to a version of the Warchief’s Blessing world buff effect. This new buff is gained for turning in a new quest “End of the Dark Horde” in Stormwind and is mutually exclusive with Warchief’s Blessing.
• The Songflower Serenade and Dire Maul Tribute buffs can no longer be dispelled by enemy players.
• Druids can now train and use polearms.

We’ve updated the patch notes with the following:

• The maximum of Rank 10 is now available in PvP.

• The Sunken Temple raid now resets twice per week.

Phase 4

Season of Discovery Phase 4 officially begins on Thursday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (22:00 CEST). Players will be able to level up to level 60 for the first time, and will gain access to new dungeons, quest and zone content, and a variety of other fun features.

• July 11 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (22:00 CEST) – Phase 4 begins and the level cap is raised to 60.
• July 18 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (22:00 CEST) – The Tainted Scar and Storm Cliffs raid instances become available.

As we prepare for the release of the Cataclysm Classic pre-patch next week, we want to update you on some of the currency conversions that will take place during maintenance. Just like the original transition from Wrath of the Lich King to Cataclysm, the currency systems used for purchasing many items in Cataclysm Classic will change.

Justice Points

Emblems of Triumph and Emblems of Frost will be converted into Justice Points, and there will be a cap, as detailed below. All emblems and badges that are lesser than Frost and Triumph will be converted into gold. This includes legacy badges, such as Badges of Justice. The final major raid in Wrath of the Lich King Classic opens at 3:00 p.m. PDT on Thursday, October 12, with twelve bosses spread across five different wings. Hardcore Realms

With a hotfix that will be deployed to Live environments shortly, we are making the following adjustments to Retribution Paladins:

Damage

Retribution Paladins have been overperforming in terms of their damage output, so we’re making some adjustments here to bring them more in line with our intentions.

• All damage reduced by 3%.
• Instrument of Retribution duration reduced to 9 seconds (was 12 seconds).

In addition to this we have a hotfix coming at a later date related to Execution Sentence and its unintended interactions with various damage boosts.

One of our major goals with the rework of Retribution Paladin was to give them a significant boost to their survivability, as this was an area where they were previously underperforming.
