Lol I have been running it smoothly until this update, been able to run enormous maps but now when it loads up right on the default presented world it starts lagging

Sonic speed and angry villagers are on so villagers are probably fighting in places too. Also not complaining about the chaos I like that. Check this

i've literally removed every mod i had installed, deleted and reinstalled the game, same thing keeps happening
That seems like common issue from outdated mods. You sure you removed everything?
Try to uninstall the game and check the game folder. If there's any files left - could be from a mod

Try to check files via steam for corruption. It would redownload missing files if you removed some by accident
The guy at the top has no traits, but is larger than someone with a giant trait. I've seen 2 of them so far.
I reloaded the game and he's now normal sized.
Probably had a power up status effect. We don't show it in ui atm(we should)
