I put a ticket into support regarding this. I am having the same issue, with cosmetic dlc.

So far placing castle walls or funfair items causes desyncs, the game recovers but its an insufferable delay to place every piece.

I can place them in blueprint but as soon as I hit upgrade them bam desync.

When the game recovers they are placed and built.

This really needs a fix, love the game but I only play multiplayer and I love making really pretty cities.

We've managed to reproduce the issue and will have a look at what's causing the problem. We won't be able to address this with the upcoming update, but will hopefully have a fix for the next patch after that.

Late to the party cause of holidays, but a very interesting discussion for sure that we also had and have in the team.

Something we can keep in mind for potential future iterations of the feature, yeah. Not something for 1800, but should we use this kind of feature in a future project, then there are certainly some points we would want to improve upon.

The campaign does a good job at slowly letting you explore all features of the game, so, I'd personally recommend at least playing the first few missions. And don't worry too much about all the missions. Basically none of them are time-sensitive in any way. Focus on building your settlement(s) first and foremost, on learning the mechanics and how to make money. And then fulfill the quests one by one whenever you feel like it.

I have been using Nexus mod for more than 10 years (and moddb before that), where does the bad reputation come from ?

Never heard of mod.io is it good ?

There are zero plans to create a shop of any kind. This is "only" an integrated browser, similar to how the Steam Workshop functions.

mod.io is from the same guys that founded moddb, btw ;)

Yes, because they were bought by Ubisoft. Originally they were called Blue Byte and acted as a publisher themselfes.

Not quite, we were originally called Related Designs and were always only a developer.

We were briefly called Blue Byte Mainz AFTER being acquired by Ubisoft.

The original Blue Byte studio is located in DΓΌsseldorf (developers of Battle Isle & Settlers)

"Anno is like sexy pudding"

I'm gonna write that down for a future box quote, thank you

The History Edition supports resolutions up to 4k and there's a UI scaling option ingame - is that what you're using already? There are no further options, I'm afraid, but the UI scaling should generally alleviate the problem.

I understand there are personal preferences, of course. Are you sitting further away from the screen or in "regular PC distance"?

Anno Union flags at the prison entrance - not sure I like the messaging here?

I understand the sentiment, but can already tell you that it's unlikely to happen.

One point is performance: You can only make one map so large until the impact on performance gets so big that it becomes a problem. Having multiple regions helps. Alternatively, we'd be rather restricted in terms of map-size.

Second point are region-specific mechanics: It allows us to create different behaviours and different mechanics for different regions (e.g. freezing in the Artic) much more easily by assigning them to specific regions.

Thirdly, also, the "I'm in a different place now" feeling is easier to get across when it's actual regions.
