Day count doesn't mean anything in terms of difficulty. Hasn't meant anything for a few years now. New players will get spawns and hordes based on their own gamestage.

Just a note.. Doing this is very likely going to break the save. Or at least anything in the world that relies on a timer.

really? Is the same true for the debug mode slider? Because I've never had any issues at all and I use it all the time.
Yep. Anything relying on a timer has a strong chance of being broken. Going forward is less likely to cause a problem, but going backwards almost certainly will. Has been this way for years.
Debug mode and console commands are for testing. Not something to use on a game save you care about.

Basically you have been super lucky so far, or just haven't encountered/noticed the things that were broken.
