Hi. Ive tried installing the game after a while of not playing it and it keeps crashing in "checking add ons" and sends me to desktop. No error whatsoever

Hi @theconguistador and welcome to the forums.

Apologies for the late response. I am also sorry to hear that you are experiencing crashes.

Can you go through the PC troubleshooting steps in the support article here as there have been known to help resolve issues such as games not launching, crashes, freezing, FPS drops and much more.

Please confirm if these steps help to resolve the issue.

Hello @freestepper and thanks for contacting Ubisoft Support.

I understand that the option "checking for add-ons" could be annoying for you, however it this is very common for many titles with additional DLC as it's often loaded into the game when you boot it, so the game will take a few seconds to load the DLC in ready for you to use it in-game.

Also as Assassin's Creed: Valhalla allows for content sharing in some capacities, this is also the point where any cross-platform add ons and load those up too.

Sorry you find it to be a hinderance on start up but I'm afraid it's unavoidable and required for the game to check and load your extra content.

If there's anything more we can answer at all, please don't hesitate to let us know!

@freestepper Hi there.

As mentioned above, regrettably there's no way to remove the 'checking for add-ons' portion of the loading screen.

We can recommend checking out our technical troubleshooting, and connectivity troubleshooting, to see if this has any impact for you. These guides are designed to help with anything that may be slowing down AC Valhalla's performance, and connection to our services.

We've taken your comment on board however, and we've forwarded it to the team. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
