[2023] Rivalry for the Ages - still bugged years later

Can someone please tell me how to reset the quest line to get the statue from Maximillian in Lunden? I started the quest years ago and I had him distracted to steal the key. The quest was bugged and the key was not lootable. I decided I would come back after it was fixed in the future.

I am now finally trying to finish the game and all of the side quests, but the key still appears to be on the stool when looking from a distance, but there is no key to collect when you approach the stool. I tried searching forums and it seems that others report this bug to be fixed. I am wondering if it was only fixed for people that hadn't yet started the quest. I still cannot loot the key. In addition, I see a lot of different workarounds to get through the barred door. I tried the Valkyrie dive, the exploding oil barrels and piercing arrows. None of these worked. I am guessing those were patched.

I am on a PS4. I checked and I am using the up to date version of AC Valhalla (no more updates).
