I was not going to post, but it seems that Ubisoft chat is not available when I go to submit a report and get some kind of advice to fix this, so I am posting here in the hopes that someone can see that there is an issue.
The game was working just fine, I had a few hours in without a single crash or issue whatsoever (granted it was in the tutorial zone). Now, I cannot go 3-5 mins in-game without a CTD. There is a brief drop to 0fps (1 second at most), then the application closes and there is no error report. I played this through when it first came out and I remember frequent crashes being an issue, but not like this. The crashes happen so often that I cannot progress through any combat because it crashes before I can finish and make a save. The issue is repeating and the game is unplayable.
Among trying other listed fixes on the forums, I have verified files (no repair was advised), did a clean installation, and lowered graphics (I already keep them much lower than what my pc can handle anyway), and this changes absolutely nothing. The hardware that I can monitor, CPU, RAM, GPU, etc is under significantly less stress than with other games that can run for hours on end, so I think it is likely not a performance or graphics issue.
