[2021] Assassin's Creed Valhalla lagging

Since yesterday or the day before, I've noticed, when playing "Assassin's Creed Valhalla", that the game occasionally, suddenly starts to lag/has a noticeable drop in frame rate. The game technically runs fine most of the time, but these periodic drops/lags, none the less, kinda ruin the experience for me.

I have a Dell G7 laptop, with:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card
Driver version 497.09
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
15.82 GB RAM
1920 x 1080 60Hz

I should also note that this is happening when I play the game on all the highest settings (haven't really tried lower settings yet); but in the past I've been able to play it on the highest settings with zero issues until now.

Can anyone possibly explain to me what the issue might be?
