I noticed in the ACValhalla.ini file that even though I have Tobii Eye Tracking turned off in options it was still turned on in the ACValhalla.ini. So I changed the line under Options that said TobiiEnabled=1 to TobiiEnabled=0

My last CTD was just after starting Templebrough fortress raid ..... Since changing the ACValhalla.ini file I completed the rest of the quests in the Ledecestrescire chapter, all the quests in the Grantebridgescire chapter and all the quests in the East Anglia chapter plus a bunch of World events and raids as well as the first quest in Asgard without a single crash.

Tobii Eye Tracking doesn't seem to use the ACValhalla.ini file anymore (changing the setting in game doesn't change the ACValhalla.ini file) but apparently it was used sometime during development and what I suspect is going on here is there are some rogue code in a couple of routines that are still trying to make a call to the ACValhalla.ini and the game thinks Tobii is enabled when it isn't and it pukes to the desktop.

I need some people with otherwise stable game (Meaning no low FPS or CPU/GPU usage problems) to verify this. There still could be a couple of crashes in the game where you crash every time due to other bugs but this should stop most of the completely random CTDs out of nowhere .... At least it has for me so far in about 15-17 straight hours of gameplay in several different areas

@Nihil1375 - I am glad to hear that this workaround for crashes provided by @longjohn119 has somewhat helped to alleviate the issues you were experiencing! Please continue to update us in this thread as to whether it is a long-term fix, or if you notice the crashes returning. If they do return, please attempt the troubleshooting posted above by my colleague @Ubi-Keo and let us know if that helps at all. We can investigate further with you if you can provide us with your MSINFO and DXDIAG files in a support case as well. Regarding the frequent pop-ups regarding a new quest, this is a known issue that the team are working to resolve already; completing any nearby avenge quests should stop this from popping up. Thank you.

@longjohn119 - Thanks again for sharing the workaround you've found regarding disabling Tobii Eye Tracking via the .ini file! I'm just wanting to reassure you that I still have the threads about aim assist not working correctly on my radar, and will be looking into those as soon as I am able. 🙂 Thanks again for bringing them to my attention!

Hello @longjohn119,

Thank you for the update. Have you created a support case, by any chance with your diagnostic files, so we can investigate these crashes? If so, can you please provide us with a number? Many thanks!

Thanks you for sharing your experience and what steps worked for you KIRHAN30 and longjohn119, I am happy to hear the stability of the game has improved.

If the crashes do continue for you, please send us your dxdiag and msinfo system files to us, via a support case, so we can check for any patterns and make the AC team aware of this > https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/contact

Letting us know of all the troubleshooting you have tried up until this point in your case, will be a big benefit.
