Hey there!
Since the latest NVIDIA drivers for the 3000 series the game keeps running more and more slow the longer the game is played.
After around 30-45 minutes you can really see how moving the camera feels horrible, it just keeps lagging and stuttering while it was fine before.
I've tried out everything, lowering the graphics to an absolute minimum, changing the DX version, and restarting the game.
Even after restarting the game + lowering the graphics to a minimum the game keeps running horrible until I perform a complete restart of the computer.
The final solution for now was using an old driver, to be exact 456.71.
Every driver above that version is causing this issue for me, especially the most recent 460.79 and 460.89.

My specs:
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
32 GB DDR4 3200MHz
Zotac Trinity 3080

I don't know if it's an issue with NVIDIAs drivers in general, or if it's fixable with an update for Anno 1800 itself, but I am just gonna post it here in case it is!
I also hope it's just a temporary solution since I prefer keeping my drivers updated for better performance in the most recent games.

Greeting, Thrax.

Hello everyone! Sorry to read you're facing an issue with your FPS, I will help in any way I can.

Can everyone please list their full specs, so I can get an idea of everyone's setup? The following information should be all I need -

- CPU
- Graphics card (GPU)
- RAM (speed & size)
- Monitor's capable resolution & refresh rate
- Targeted resolution & refresh rate
- Graphics preset / settings (an image may be the easiest way to present this)

I appreciate I'm asking a lot of information. Perhaps this will help us find the cause of your problem, and help our dev team to investigate.

A video of the issue would also be useful however I understand you've all found a workaround. No need to provide this if it is too much trouble.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for providing everything I requested, that is great.

Hopefully we can get more responses so we have a collection of data to review.

Perhaps this is a driver issue but we can do our best to investigate

Thank you all for getting back to me. I can see some of your are 20 series GPU owners, rather than 30 series like we discussed above.

To help me understand if this is the same issue, can you please advise if rolling back to a previous driver helps at all?

Driver version 457.51 which was released 2nd December helped some of our friends above.

Once I know if this is all related to the same issue, I'll be able to help more

Thank you, It's good to also get confirmation from you as you're using a 20 series GPU.

I'll report everything back to our team! Perhaps this is a driver issue that is not in our direct control, but I'm sure our team will find a solution

Goodbye for now!

I understand entirely, thank you for getting back to me so quickly!

Hello!

Thank you all for adding to this support thread.

I reported this issue to the Anno 1800 team. Our Quality Assurance team were unable to reproduce the issue themselves, however it has still been raised to our dev team so they can also take a look.

We have no further information at this time, however we'll let you know once we do!

I certainly will, thank you for the conclusive video.

Please also confirm the following -

- What is your current video driver version?
- Have you tried rolling back your driver to 457.51 or earlier? If so, did it help?

Thank you!

Hello again everyone,

I understand rolling back drivers is not a suitable suggestion for everyone. This was simply to determine if this is a driver issue, and if rolling back helps the situation.

Our team are still looking into this for us!

@peenab would it be possible to provide a DxDiag report please? A direct link to the file would work fine, or it can be added to a support case.

Thank you!

Please be aware to not mix up the performance issues introduced with Game Update 9.3 (those should be fixed now) and the issues that seem to be related to the Nvidia graphics drivers and are around for a little while longer already.

We're internally investigating it and checking with Nvidia but so far do not have any news on the topic. It's most likely not something that can be entirely solved on our end.

We're still investigating the performance issues which seem to be related to the latest Nvidia drivers.
If anyone of you would be willing to share a savegame where this issue can be reproduced, please let me know.

Thank you,
Thorlof

Hello everyone!

Apologies for the slow responsiveness on our side within this thread.

Our team are still investigating however as Ubi-Thorlof explained, we don't have a way of directly resolving this ourselves.

Thank you!

Hey guys!

Quick update - this appear to be driver related issue which after thorough review, can only be addressed by Nvidia in this particular case, I'm afraid.

Sir.Sriracha - in relation to the flickering issue you're experiencing - have you had a chance to try and test different video settings in-game to see if it makes any difference? If you have yet to no avail, could you create a separate thread for this, including either video or screenshot showing it as well as what are the steps you take prior to it that leads to flickering, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi everyone,

My apologies as there was some slight confusion on my behalf.

I can confirm that this particular matter is being reviewed by our development team.

As of right now, we had difficulties with reproducing the issue however we have received more documentation to aid us in further review.

Our apologies for the inconvenience this is causing and appreciate you for bearing with us for the time being.

C0lbyte - if you revert your drivers back to 457.51 or anything older, that should help you to resolve the problem.

Should you have any questions, let us know!
