If you add our individual skill together you get an okay player. We are on comms but mostly to just chat, we have no real strats (our first win happened on DUMMIEs Big Day and our last ring went like “oh man they have us pinned down but we gotta move..uhh..just uhh throw our ults at once and see what happens?” —didn’t fool anyone but we got the W so yay), but last night something just clicked. We kept placing top 3 and losing to people with 4K kills and 200 S3 wins, but not before putting up a decent fight. We were able to disengage from fights we could not possibly win. We rotated (pure luck but yeah) nicely. And we did it folks! We got a win! Our first one as a group! The pure glee in our comms was delightful! Especially after a tough and stressful day; to come into this game and have this much fun playing, what an amazing feeling. Thank you Apex!
We have so many areas to improve on. Our youngling and perhaps most gifted player chokes under minimum pressure most of the time as she is unsure of herself. Me and my gf are pushing 40 so not much room for improvement, especially for her since she has a full time job and can’t play as much. Me, I’m the sweatiest of all of us. I want to get better, but also I’m the first one down because my aggressive plays are writing checks my aim and positioning can’t cash 9 times out of 10, but hey! For this one day at least, team gurl potato did it.
There is (some!) hope for us all and there is fun to be had. Be well and enjoy yourselves <3
