Have you tried building? Many S+ building concepts are already in ATLAS, with additional improvements.

Ah, yeah GeForce 210 only supports Shader Model 4 and is quite below minimum spec... Sorry :(

Crew can be obtained in the Freeports from the Crew Merchant, or you can rescue them from Army of the Damned ships that you destroy at sea.

Are you running with a GPU that does not support Shader Model 5? Atlas does not support Shader Model 4.

Also NPC Crew were used in the trailer in addition to players. NPC Crew can follow you around on and off your ship and take orders, so if you're rolling around with 20+ NPC AI you might have them stand around, have a seat and wait, or ride along with you in town. Hopefully some enterprising Companies set up their own trading ports similar to the trailer towns on Official servers one day!

Here is the relevant patch note:

- Removed requirement to be on a boat to steal someone's boat after placing the claim flag. Adjusted base value times to claim the boats to be 1 one minute to steal a dinghy, 30 minutes to steal a raft, a couple hours to steal sloop, and so forth (levelling a ship increases the time it takes to steal that ship).

Thank god, and I pray that it's a REALISTIC PLAYABLE timer. But thanks for the hard work, keep it up. Starting to change a lot of my opinions.

Thanks for the feedback, that's what EA is for ;)

Also the game does not say Singleplayer. Its not unreasonable for you to be expected to play with other people

They're making it harder to contest claims. Now you can't do it unless the person...

When you say the game crashes, do you get an error message, or does it lock up and then you have to end the process?

Assuming not everything was destroyed, you'll be able to swim down to where it's suck and interact with the structural pieces, such as demolishing them or accessing the inventory, etc.

Larger ships are not controlled with wheel menus if you are manning them properly with NPC crew. All the controls are at your fingertips much like the other examples brought up in this thread.

On anything larger than a raft, if you assign NPC crewmates to the sails and guns, the captain can control everything on the ship using WASD and other keys while on the wheel of the ship. Very much like AC: Black Flag.

The main reason ATLAS is 100 GB (other than the massive scope of the content and the large number of terrains) is that the textures are 4k resolution. In ARK they were 2k.

Ultimately we'd like to separate the 4k textures into an HD texture pack, but it's faster for Early Access iteration to keep it as a single build for now.

Clearly the ARK Devs still havent optimized or learned how to compress anything, their new re-skinned game is just as massive as Ark.

I bet undermeshing and duping are still a thing in this game. They never could figure out how to fix those problems in ark in 3 years.
