Every time I try to install the new update, it automatically starts scanning files but once it completes it just says "Something went wrong" and never fully finishes the scan & repair. I can't install the update.

The player has deleted this post so I can't verify if that is what he said, however, players often employ hyperbole in simple exchanges so I have to ask for certainty.
Approximately one hour ago, from the time of this, post we released a change/fix which addressed new reports of the crash. Give it a boot and let me know how it goes for you.
(This is concerning the most recent increase in crash reports beginning around 2 pm/PT on 12/21.)
