Well that's a weird one. Did you actually get anything though? Or you weren't able to tell? If you can identity any rewards it should have given you (like they showed up broken or showed text for them) we could tie that back to some specific event reward and try to help replace the missing reward.
I think CODM are just using them as regular grunts for this game.
You are not wrong, but you are also both right - we do try to keep certain of those default soldier types as being on one side or another. It's fairly loose though with Spec Ops soldiers and we spend far more time aligning the more specific operators, like Artery, Ghost, or any of the other 30+ operators.
There is a bug, most noticeable in SnD when you kill an enemy they still appear to be running in place. Have you heard of this?

Alternatively, if that takes too long you could also try the "Repair" option from the main login menu. It should be on the right hand side and looks like a wrench/tool. That should look for any corrupted files and reinstall them.
