@beardeddragon1225 Do you think you could try out the modded realm and let me know if the performance issues persist there too?
@beardeddragon1225 Do you think you could try out the modded realm and let me know if the performance issues persist there too?
Thank you for your contributions @beardeddragon1225 and everybody else for your input, I’m pleased to hear that re-pasting solved your issues and it wasn’t something more sinister! Although I’ve been quiet recently I have been keeping an eye on this post every day.
I’m currently working on putting together a "how to improve your performance in Vermintide 2" article but it’s taking longer than I had originally hoped due to the sheer amount of headache-inducing variables involved!
That being said, it’s awfully hard from a support perspective to determine whether a player’s performance drops are caused by something local without having the PC in our hands, or as a result of something we’ve changed. Symptoms vary largely from person to person too. We’re very aware a number of people notice a degradation in performance after large patches, especially so with 1.5. I’m rambling on a bit and thinking out loud here which I appreciate isn’t much help to anybody but please know we’re listening and take your complaints seriously.
It’s a good idea Azaroth. Let’s do that. A collective thread with dxdiags of players experiencing the specific issue - and their issue described as clearly as possible so we can identify trends.
Smoker - I’ll speak with the engine team about the build. I’m a little out of the loop
Hey everybody,
We’re aware of these performance issues and our team is looking into it.
Apologies for the frustration and thanks for the feedback.
We’ll keep you updated should there be any progresses or if we require additional information to help us track down the source of this problem.
Hey everybody,
Quick update: we’ve identified the issue and we’re working on a fix. We’ll release this fix along with a few other on a hotfix early next week.
Thanks again for those who sent us constructive feedback and for your patience.
The issue has been identified but not fixed yet, which is what our team is focusing on deliver. Our earliest ETA is at the start of next week.
Please do keep it civil.
All right, everyone:
Understandably, you are frustrated when the game does not work as expected and we are doing everything in our power to help.
We have been reporting your issues as soon as they were brought up and verified. The team has immediately focused on looking into the problems, and we are addressing them.
Knowing what the issue is (or assuming so), means that people are looking into possible fixes. It does not mean that we have an immediate fix to the problem.
Performance issues are always a priority, and we are treating those as such. They are, however, in most cases quite complex to fix.
Saying “it will be patched next week” does not mean the same as “we are fixing it next week” (and not doing anything in the meantime).
We are working on fixes for the FPS issues now, but some fixes take longer to finalize (because, in this case, the fix asks for something to be rebuilt that takes a few days to complete).
Additionally, we want to make sure we can help the team with as much info as possible so they can verify that they are indeed on the right track with the fixes they are working on.
For those of you willing to help with this:
We would love to be able to take a look at your logs.
It would also be great to know the following:
Rest assured that we are not delaying anything on purpose, and we are fixing issues as soon as we can. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding
Alright people. Frustration is understandable and you’re all very welcome to share it, but in a constructive and most importantly, respectful way.
We have a set of guidelines you’ve all agreed to when participating in our community discussions, which you can read right here on this link:
So just again, and as a reminder, this is what we’re here discussing:
To those of you running mods, please keep in mind that mods, after every update, tend to cause some issues shortly after the game being patched. Please refer to each mod page to see if there’s any ongoing issue with the current version of the mod. We cannot fix those issues and won’t collect feedback regarding technical issues of a mod. You should direct that feedback to the official page or community of that mod in particular.
We are interested in feedback regarding the vanilla game, with no mods (and with no mods, we mean none) so we can act upon that issue and fix it from our end. If you’re in that situation in which you’re running no mods in your game or your server, please let us know the following details:
If you’re still wanting to report these issues with mods, please first disable them completely and observe if the problem persists. If it does, please use the instructions just above. If it doesn’t please proceed to enable each mod one by one and observe if the problems start appearing again once any of them is enabled. This way you can isolate the cause of those technical issues.
The current ETA for the release of this fix is early next week. We understand this might be frustrating, but then again we’d like to deliver a fix that does indeed take care of this issue in particular properly.
And once again, to reiterate, we welcome all your feedback as long as it’s constructive and respectful.
Thanks for all your additional input to the ones being constructive and helpful.
We are trying to address these issues as fast as we can.
If your post was hidden or removed, there was a reason for it: it went against the forum rules which are clearly stated here.
You are very welcome on these parts of our woods as long as you stick to the rules which you agreed to by signing up for our forums. You are also welcome to send the community team a PM regarding posts being hidden or removed. We are happy to assist and explain our actions.
Hey there,
For the problems happening on the vanilla version of the game, we’ve identified a most likely cause for the problems affecting, again, those playing in unmodded servers. This issue has been addressed and will be released, as we announced above, early next week.
We’re currently investigating other possible causes for these slowdowns. Again, please take a look at my previous message here.
Thanks to the majority who has been sending us constructive and helpful feedback and for keeping this thread on track.
Devkit was made available a few days before the update rolled out (Friday-Saturday).
@Mocaris welcome to our community and thanks for the details provided. From what we’ve read in the forums, ELI seems to be the one that aggravated this issue the most.
We’ve already acknowledged a few times over the past few days that there’s a couple of identified issues affecting performance introduced in the last patch. They are not as widespread nor as severe as with mods, but still an issue. Our team is working on that at the moment.
Again, we appreciate the lively discussions but please keep this topic for what it is, which is to collect information that would lead to a quicker resolution. For general discussions regarding the game, its mod scene and other topics please use the General discussions section.
Hey @hitdaman
There is unfortunately no other update than our team working on it and aiming to release it as soon as possible. One of the two identified issues has been fixed but the other one was a little more complex and it’s taking a little longer to fully fix.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Hey @Sahbrena,
We’ll release this update this week. It´s currently undergoing some testing on Testlive at this moment.
You can check out the patchnotes here:
Confirmed to be this week on PC.
Hey @Kzertus
Welcome to our community and apologies for the frustration.
Could you try re-validating your game files on Steam and trying on a vanilla server/single player to see if these issues persist?
Otherwise, could you list your system specs and share a video of this issue in action so we can get a better look at it?
