Owning at least 51% Counties of a Duchy allows you to create a Duke title which gives you +1 Knight, +1 Men-at-Arms, a higher Scheme Resistance along with other bonuses.
As a Norse Ruler, this "Duke" Jarl title can give you the edge to beat other petty Chieftains!
