Since the omnicells are to some extent entering as "classes" it would be nice to see some omnicells that focus on team support, supporting your allies by either buffing or healing them. All 3 of these seem pretty selfish, and honestly most builds and equipment are too, so it would be such a nice change to introduce some stuff that really focuses on support. Let me focus on healing or buffing up my teammates!
Dauntless is such a fun game to play with other people but really limits what you can do to work as a team outside of escalation buffs. Everyone is so focused on maximum dps that there's just no room for "what can I do to help others?"
I agree, and we already have one like this in the works! \o/
Oooh! :D Thanks for the heads-up!

Any of the crowns is pink?
I really need more pink accessories
Sadly no, not at the moment!
Are the crowns only going to be of escalation bosses, or will there be ones of every behemoth
Just the five escalation keystones at the moment.
Does this mean we can earn a crown no sooner than 5 weeks from the update?
That is correct yes.
Will they receive some adjustments if they are toooooo hard?
It is meant to be the hardest content in the game, but all things are subject to balance and we are certainly going to be watching how players engage with it and make changes as needed.
There will be another form to obtain Heroic Mertis? I hope not...
No current plans to offer them any other way than Heroic Escalation.
Does anyone else already got the update on their system, waiting to be installed tomorrow (for me around 19)?
Edit: I ask this because I’ve personally not seen it before with any other previous update.
Edit 2: Should’ve mentioned beforehand it’s on PS4.
Playstation has a pre-install that we're trying out. It will unlock tomorrow!
Each week, Slayers can earn 1 Heroic Merit by completing that weeks Heroic Escalation. The current Element of Heroic Escalation will cycle every week.
The Crowns can be obtained in the Slayer's path at the cost of 5 Heroic Merits each. They have an additional requirement of having defeated the corresponding Behemoth.
So to unlock Torgadoro's crown for example, a slayer will need to obtain 5 heroic Merits (from any Heroic Escalation, element does not matter) and have defeated Heroic Torgadoro at least once.
Is there a way to get a wallpaper version of that Heroic Escalation background picture? It's too cool to be a small version or have text in front of it. Thanks. :)
This ^
Poking the artist now, will try to update our media page with it asap. ;)
Hey everyone,
Yes, this is a big one with a lot of changes to the current meta. We're going to be carefully combing over feedback and data in the coming weeks. Balancing is an ongoing process, and this isn't the end of it, it's the start.
Once you've had a chance to experiment with new builds, let us know what you think. We'll be reading it all!
The pike and the sword look really sleek. CB and Repeaters are weird though, they look like they belong to a different set.
They do in fact belong to a different set - both sets will be complete in the second half of the season
Read moreWell, this is a big one.
First, a question to the devs/artists: Is there a way to get a wallpaper version of that Heroic Escalation background picture? It's too cool to be a small version or have text in front of it. Thanks. :)
Generally I'm doubtful/worried about the new Omnicells, Lantern change and the change to Cells. It's a big game-changer. Example, will any of my old builds still be working just fine in the regular Escas 10-50? I don't use any half-life builds (well except for my only Axe build which will soon become completely useless so I have to rebuild it entirely; worst case scenario is I stop using Axe altogether and free up a slot for a Chain Blade loadout with a new armor transmog to mix and match) but I wonder if I'm still getting nerfed. And what about Trials? What will be the new meta for endgame builds in Dauntless Trials and Heroic Escalations?
I mean, Discipline (Omnicell), Rage and
WildAssassin's Frenzy d...
Just wanna quickly reply to a few of these!
Regarding no longer dropping parts that aren't used, this refers to some of the older rare drops that are no longer parts of recipes. You will still get Gnasher parts, but some of the things like elemental tailplates and the like that were part of the old exotic recipes but not the new ones are being removed.
Regarding the Elder Shields invisibility, this is specifically when we are 'hiding' the behemoth as part of a teleport or the like, the shields will also be gone in the same way. So this doesn't impact Kharabak for example, it'll still be the same. This largely solves things like Shields sitting out in the open, abandoned, and then snapping to Koshi when it burrows underground. Or the shields sitting in the middle of Riftstalker's murder palace.
Thanks for the feedback, and as always we'll try to make sure our patch notes have more and more clarity.
eyyy that hood looks sweet! weapons are really nice too - though as another comment mentioned it's weird that the chainblades and repeaters have no green? (cbs are my main wep so it'll be kinda sad if i don't get to match the aesthetic)
still, for the rest i'm loving the mix of the forester look and ostian military tech!
Matching chainblades will be coming in the second half of the season. I got to work on the design actually - hope you like them!
