Greetings Commanders.

The team are aware that the new launcher install process for the Frontier standalone version of Elite Dangerous is currently "stuck in a loop" and are on the case.

The standalone launcher says you need version 1.7.6925.0.

The one downloaded is remaining the old one (0.4.6779.0).
More info when we have it, but as always, thank you so much for your patience as we look into things.

It's not behaving.

I'm trying to use the Frontier Launcher. When I double clicked on my current launcher icon from my desktop, it told me a new version was available to download. Which I did. I then launched the exe and it went through its instllation process.

It then asked me to reboot. Which I did.

Now, when I launch from the new desktop icon, it keeps telling me there is a new version - whch is exactly the same as the one I just downloaded.

Noted and passed on o7

I'm yet to see the naw launcher (I should get a chance at lunchtime). As an active fuel rat I have many copies of the game across all PC Platforms and run them in all game modes. For me speed of switching accounts/relaunching in different modes is paramount.
Any information about switches is likely to help tremendously.

All I can suggest, for the sake of time and making sure you get the right information having tried the new launcher yourself, is come back after using it how you are used to and report any issues o7

The launcher prompted a download, but it was the old client-installer.exe not the new one.

Let's keep an eye on it and give it another 8 minutes or so.

Just downloaded the launcher again and now it's the right version (fdev launcher)

Confirmed, new downloaded exe has a different version number

Yep yep like I say, we're on the case.
Good to know it's rolling out, just wanted to do final checks before confirming

Do the command line parameters like /novr (and all the other options) still work with new launcher?

Yes. If they aren't then let me know o7

I have already downloaded the new version from my downloadable products (version 1.7.6920.0, the old one is 0.4.6779.0). The new one caused the error message.

Probably best, if you can't get it to work and continue to get the error, to email support direct in the link provided above for sure.

Of course, f.dev breaks something they update again. Downloaded the new launcher and I keep getting a message that I need to download the new launcher after I have already installed it.

This sounds like

A fix has been implemented but please do give it a little time from now for the changes to bed in (around 10 minutes).
I have noticed a number of you who were previously experiencing the issue are now able to obtain the correct launcher version, however we are running final checks on this side too.

New standalone version is available in 'my downloadable products', installing now.

Edit:

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognised app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.

Hmm.

Ok maybe it isn't 10 mins! Wow!

Oh, is that what is supposed to happen? I thought they'd removed the news entirely (it's just blank when I scroll down) and was just about to post bewailing its loss.

Just to keep the room updated, the team are digging into this now still. Will update you all as soon as more is known.

Greetings Commanders.

Thought it might be nice to hop in this afternoon and do a little information roundup for those who may have missed some key information highlights from yesterday's livestream.
We absolutely appreciate that not everyone here watches the streams of course, so let's make sure as many of you as possible are kept in the loop.

Greetings Commanders!

I hope everyone has continued to be blissfully unaware of the silent watchers who audit our every movement from just outside our field of view. It's always so awkward when someone spots them and they have to be written out of the timeline. Anywho, another week has flown by like a pigeon who left the gas on, so that means it's time to go over this week's news!

Greetings Commanders.

The new pre-engineered Gimballed AX Multi-Cannon CG rewards are now available.
Please be aware that last week's CG text incorrectly stated that the module would have modified Armor Piercing and Distributor Draw.

The module is in fact using an altered Overcharged modification, which modifies Damage and Power Draw.

Sorry for the confusion caused.

See you in the black o7

You should be able to use the whole thing in-game! Does it work fully in any other titles? If these issues persist, let us know by sending a ticket and we'll try our best to help:

So if I had put CMs all hands to the pump for RoR beta it would have been more accurate? ;)

Friday to Monday was very heavy on from several of us last week, Sure! We can multitask too, y'know...well...not "can"...more do.
