[2022] Anyway to reduce lag with mp

My best guess is that one of the potatoes is worst than the other.

If your friend's computer is about the same as yours, i'd suggest he checks about cutting all non-necessary apps, to alleviate the load.  

Does it matter who is host?

Does this also affect CK2 and HOi4?  

Please have them test as host anyway.

Ck2 is free to play on Steam now, so that's a good test too.


And finally, when you start Eu4 there are 3 MP options shown, Please try all 3!  

When you run this game from the PLAY button in the Steam library, what is the very first thing you see?

I think you'll find it's a choice of 3 MP options.
