Fortnite: Save the World Dev Tracker

We acknowledge that players currently cannot login to Fortnite and are running into an error message. We've got the team looking into this now.

They won't be able to restore your inventory with everything, but that should at least get you back into the game while we sort out the rest of the details.

Howdy all. Here’s some insight on what happened with today’s profile issues:

• At 12:30 pm ET we pushed a backend service update to fix an issue with the Event Store calendar in Save the World
• Not long after, your feedback started pouring in and we observed a large increase in service errors and started our investigation
• Around 4:50 pm ET, following our investigation, we identified that one of our service instances had entered a bad state and we promptly shut it down and replaced it
• Services immediately recovered, preventing further occurrences but not fully resolving for some previously affected users

We are now actively working to identify all users who have sustained profile issues in regard to lost inventory in Save the World and errors with V-Buck purchases. We’ll do whatever it takes to make this right.

Hey Fortnite fam,

The V.1.11 holiday update is planned to drop this Thursday, December 14. This patch will not release at the normal 4:00am ET time. We are aiming for sometime Thursday morning, and will update everyone as we get close to the release. There will be downtime with this update. There is a chance the timing/date for this release changes.

D'oh, sorry this happened to you. Was there anything special you can think of that happened when this occured? Like it hitting an enemy right before activation? I can take a look at this to see if there's something wrong, or ways to prevent this from happening.

We’ve been having problems with some of our services today. We’ve discovered a fix but it will require some downtime. We are scheduling this for 2:30 AM ET. We thank everyone for their patience today. We want you back out in the action!

We hear you. PC performance took a hit since the V.1.9.1 patch and we have seen an increase in hitching for PC players. We prepared and released an update on Thursday, Nov. 30 to address these problems but have not seen much improvement. Our response time on this has been poor. We misidentified the scope, details, and root cause of the issue. In other words, we were trying to investigate your reports of things being worse but we were looking for answers in the wrong places.

This is on us, and we want to apologize to every player who has been affected by these issues. The team is still working on solutions, and will continue to over the weekend. We hope to have a fix ready asap. Watch our social channels for updates and count on us to let the community know when we have made significant progress.

UPDATE: Patch V.1.9.1 is now Live!

The V.1.9.1 update will release on Nov 29, at 4:00am Eastern Time.

There will be downtime. Battle Royale matchmaking will be disabled 15 minutes before downtime begins as we prepare for the patch deployment.

Players will be logged out of all Epic services prior to the deployment will be able to to log back into the Launcher, Website, and Forums after a few minutes. The V.1.9.1 client update will be for all players on all platforms.

We will be deploying a small patch on November 16 to address a few nasty bugs and crashes for Battle Royale.

The PC and PS4 patch will go live at 4:00am Eastern Time, while the Xbox patch is planned to go live sometime around 9:00am Eastern Time. The timing on the Xbox patch is subject to change.

There will be no downtime, but Battle Royale will be temporarily disabled for maintenance. All players will need to close and update their clients. For immediate updates, keep an eye on our twitter.

Keep in mind we re-did weapon elemental FX earlier in the year, which also has a 4th variant "energy" (which is just bluglo effectively). Between those 4, we have 3 of which I'd naturally want to color blue (ice, energy, and electric). To help separate the hues and make these chromatically distinct, electric seemed like the only logical choice that could deviate away from blue and go more into amber/yellow.

Now using those 4 as a template, I hope it makes a little more sense why we went away from blue. However I did try to counter it some with the little blue arcs that spawn from the enemy's body. It's not much, but does help some.

We'll get this tracked and see if we can get it turned around for you. I've also got some other issues tracking about just global keyboard layouts being auto recognized and supported.
