To be fair, they did announce that StW would update separately to major BR updates

Correct. A new season launch in Battle Royale doesn't always line up with new content release in Save the World. Each game mode can undergo larger updates at different times. Historically, BR seasonal launches have been much lighter for Save the World as this content typically launches in the .20 update.

We're currently experiencing a bug where some players aren't able to connect to servers. We're working to get this one fixed as soon as possible.

We're currently experiencing an issue where players may be unable to connect to servers for missions. The servers are available but players are unable to connect directly to them. Server health is improving but we're still working towards a final fix.
