[2023] 6.9 Update - Issue with Trial Offer Purchases

Hello Adventures,

I’m just jumping in to let you all know about an issue we discovered in 6.9 (and have a temporary fix for).

We discovered that the new Trial Offer and Epic Trial Offers are not popping up the confirmation windows (for spending gems) as offers do in other places, when spending gems.

To prevent anyone unintentionally spending Gems on the offers, we have temporarily increased the cost to a high amount (1,000,000 gems) to stop this happening. We’re not really expecting you to spend that many gems!

Unfortunately we were not able to turn off this offer, so that was the best solution on short notice.

We will be looking to release a proper fix soon and will return the cost to normal once that is released.

Currently the team are focused on fixing the offer and confirmation window.
We’ll be talking about what to do about the missed out on offers once that is done.

Also just a reminder to please use family friendly language when participating in the Gems of War community.

Thank you all very much for your patience while we’re looking into this and the other issues raised.

If that happens we’ll refund the Gems.

Update:

We will be looking into compensation for this issue once it’s resolved.
I’ve spoken to the team and unfortunately, it’s unlikely the compensation will include a Starry Pet at this stage.

I will give you the details once I have them.

I chased this up this earlier to see if there has been anything possible to share, while the team has been actively working on this issue.
Currently, we are awaiting the fix to pass submission - which is why there has not been much more information, as the team is also waiting for it to pass and be finalised.

As Kafka mentioned, once there is more, we will share it asap. The same applies to further information on compensation or a more specific time the fix will be released.
