Patch 3.1 brings several balancing changes requested by the community, as well as improvements for ammo management in Team deathmatch and multiple bug fixes.

WEAPONS & HACKS

After patch 3.0, we received multiple feedback from the community about the Protocol sniper rifle being too dominant in the revamped Neo Arcadia map; this was also confirmed when looking at weapon data across all platforms. Although some weapons remain more popular, the sniper is supposed to be a secondary weapon and it creates too much pressure when it becomes common at mid-range. We’ll be adjusting the Protocol, along with the Dragonfly for the same reason (although this weapon is not as dominant). We preferred not to touch actual damages, as the overall game balance feels right at the moment and decided to only adjust their ranges and aim assist.

When does PC join the global matchmaking pool?

PC crossplay will be on by default starting Jan 28, 2021 @ noon EST.


How will it work?

Starting January 28, crossplay will be on by default on PC, meaning PC players will be placed in the same global matchmaking pool as players on PlayStation and Xbox. As is the case on console, players will be able to deactivate crossplay on PC within the game menus. If they do so, they might experience long matchmaking times, as they will be placed in a PC only matchmaking pool with the other players that have opted out of PC crossplay.


Will console players be forced into matchmaking with PC players?

Patch 2.6 introduces nerfs to aim assist, improvements to Crown Rush modes, Team Deathmatch and Arcadium, as well as new cosmetic items in the Marketplace and more.

COMBAT

AIM ASSIST REDUCTION

With this update we are bringing several modifications to our bullet magnet system, to reduce its impact in game, on all platforms.

First, the bullet magnet’s intensity has been reduced and flattened out across the board. This will reduce some of its negative side effects and ensure a global aim-assist behavior more similar for all players whatever gaming platform they use.

The effective range at which bullet magnet is active has also been reduced for most weapons. With this change we want to remove the “aimbot” feeling players can have when using weapons with a high rate of fire at long distance – especially the Harpy or the Ripper. We will be soon releasing our next update in the Hyper Scape Lab – the next big patch is planned to drop on January 26 on all platforms. As was the case with previous updates, our goal with this patch is too continue developing and refining new ways for people to learn and improve key skills for our super fast-paced FPS experience.

As a quick refresher, the Hyper Scape Lab is what we’re calling this current phase of development where we’ve broken the dev team into autonomous development cells focused creating features and improvements based upon the following areas (one cell per pillar): - Combat - Onboarding - Game Modes - Player Goals - Crossplay - World - Shop

FOV SLIDER ON PS4 AND XBOX ONE

Reminder, that since our update earlier this week, we are now supporting the FOV slider on all generations of PS4 & Xbox One.

Keep in mind that changing the default value might impact the overall visual quality of the game, as it affects the dynamic resolution scaling.

  • Default value: 80
  • Minimum value: 70
  • Maximum value: 105

Developer Notes: You may have noticed the default FOV value has changed from 65 to 80. In fact, the value remains the same, but we converted our FOV measurements from Vertical (65) to Horizontal (80) to match player preference.

CONTROLLER AIMING IMPROVEMENTS

A new exponential aiming curve has been added for controllers and the behavior of the other curves has been improved. The three aiming curves (classic, linear and exponential) now use the same speed / top speed settings. We also fixed some issues where the diagonal speed was sometimes different between vertical & horizontal speed, which should increase the comfort when aiming.
