Patch 2.6 introduces nerfs to aim assist, improvements to Crown Rush modes, Team Deathmatch and Arcadium, as well as new cosmetic items in the Marketplace and more.

COMBAT

AIM ASSIST REDUCTION

With this update we are bringing several modifications to our bullet magnet system, to reduce its impact in game, on all platforms.

First, the bullet magnet’s intensity has been reduced and flattened out across the board. This will reduce some of its negative side effects and ensure a global aim-assist behavior more similar for all players whatever gaming platform they use.

The effective range at which bullet magnet is active has also been reduced for most weapons. With this change we want to remove the “aimbot” feeling players can have when using weapons with a high rate of fire at long distance – especially the Harpy or the Ripper. Patch 2.5 introduces crossplay and improvements to certain features that were introduced in our previous Lab phase including Team Deathmatch and Arcadium. As we explained recently, we are now in the Hyper Scape Lab phase of the Season 2, and we are going to let our players experience certain features while they are still in beta, to gather feedback from our community.

NEW FEATURES

CROSSPLAY (SOFT LAUNCH)

Patch 2.5 finally introduces the long-awaited crossplay feature! Crossplay will enable you to play online with friends and players over different gaming systems.

For this first iteration we will offer full crossplay between consoles, and by-invite for PC. On console, if crossplay is enabled you will be able to play freely together between Xbox and PlayStation. PC players will also be able to invite their friends on console and play with them directly, however their party will be matched into the PC queue.

FOV SLIDER ON PS4 AND XBOX ONE

Reminder, that since our update earlier this week, we are now supporting the FOV slider on all generations of PS4 & Xbox One.

Keep in mind that changing the default value might impact the overall visual quality of the game, as it affects the dynamic resolution scaling.

  • Default value: 80
  • Minimum value: 70
  • Maximum value: 105

Developer Notes: You may have noticed the default FOV value has changed from 65 to 80. In fact, the value remains the same, but we converted our FOV measurements from Vertical (65) to Horizontal (80) to match player preference.

A new exponential aiming curve has been added for controllers and the behavior of the other curves has been improved. The three aiming curves (classic, linear and exponential) now use the same speed / top speed settings. We also fixed some issues where the diagonal speed was sometimes different between vertical & horizontal speed, which should increase the comfort when aiming.

The Atrax is a full-auto rifle which shoots sticky explosive projectiles.

The chemical projectiles from the Atrax will detonate instantly when hitting a Contender, but when hitting an environment surface, they will instead stick to it and detonate shortly after.

Any enemy target caught within the Area of Effect of the explosion will suffer damage and a short slowdown effect.

The Atrax is an efficient and versatile weapon, but it has a very limited magazine clip size, so watch your ammo count closely!

Hyper Scape will briefly be down for maintenance today to deploy a small title update addressing a number of bugs reported by the community. While this patch does not impact overall gameplay balance, we are actively listening and discussing game feedback and suggestions.

Sound Optimization

Simplification of the number of active sounds during a match, reducing occurrences of dropped sound. The change should not generate any noticeable changes in the sound experience for players.

Please note: This does not include a fix for the previously reported Magnet issue. Stay tuned for further updates on this issue and the Magnet hack.

Greetings Contenders!

The full launch of Hyper Scape’s first season across all platforms has brought new important feedback from our existing community, and from an entirely new audience of console players. Your comments are extremely important to us, and we’re starting to address them in the patch 1.1, the first major update since the launch of Season One.

Thanks to the arrival of console we have received a lot of comments on the game experience with a Controller, much more than we heard during our Open Beta. Players particularly reported issues related to the aiming sensitivity of the game, and the comfort of Controller sticks in general. As such, we are adding new Controller settings to disable Aim Acceleration and choose a Linear Response Curve. Making sure you have a good experience on console is key for us so we will continue monitoring your feedback on this topic closely.

A couple of you eagle-eyed Contenders have already caught this, so we wanted to confirm that, yes, we have a patch on the way! The timing, however, is slightly different than what you may have seen, but it's still coming very soon!

Patch 0.5 will be deploying on PC this Friday, July 31 at approximately 2:00 PM PT // 5:00 PM ET, following the Creators Cup.

This represents a broad rebalancing pass on the abilities meta of the game. Hello Contenders! The launch of Hyper Scape’s Open Beta introduces our version 0.3.

This patch comes with a lot of new content and several improvements on issues raised during Technical Test. The test for us was incredibly useful in being able to ensure our server and game client stability is up to the task for the much larger populations we expect when fully live. Your gameplay data gave the development team the crucial information necessary to better understand where our overall Game Balance stands, and what changes will be needed. You’ll see some of these changes already in the notes below, with more planned for launch.
