In this game that from my perspective is all about speed and reactions, you shouldn't have a weapon that can instantly kill anyone.
It's definitely a frustrating experience to play around sometimes, especially when you are up against a fully fused sniper. The game is definitely fast-paced and has a lot of movement, so a sniper can seem a bit awkward at first. However, because you are supposedly moving around a ton, it should be a bit difficult for snipers to land shots.

From my deep-dive into Protocol V feedback, I found that the main point of frustration for the community is the one-shot kill mechanic from a really far distance. We've seen some crazy snipes from over 300 meters away, which is really exciting at first but is understandably upsetting for the player who got sniped. Due to how the game is rendered, it can be difficult to see out that far for players who don't have snipers. Because of this, there is essentially no counter-play for the player getting sniped at.
The kneejerk reaction to the Protocol V is the suggestion to make it projectile-based instead. However, this would make the Protocol feel useless because of the amount of movement you have to account for in the game. I think the alternative suggestion would be to add damage dropoff to decrease the chance of getting one shot across the map. This way, you still have the one-shot mechanic but at a closer range.
