What's the deal with this? I get this every time I open up the game and it's getting annoying, since I have pretty old CPU it tends to take about 2-5 minutes. Sometimes even more, depends on what I'm currently doing.

Thanks for reaching out and I am sorry to hear about the issue you ran into.
I have seen player reports, suggesting that running Uplay PC as Administrator or alternatively, locating where your Hyper Scape game files are and launching hyperscepe.exe as Administrator directly from there has helped to resolve this, so if you haven't already, give this a go and keep us updated!
