Because the portal is rendered VFX in the game scene, and the store previews are automated from the sticker part of the asset. While we all would like better store previews - there are many many things we want to do for the game and have to prioritize. In the mean time, we aren't going to let our creativity be hindered by only doing things that show well in the store preview, especially when the community helps share!

There's a bug we are working on.
In the mean time, after you purchase, tap in the empty part of the left panel and then anywhere outside the card to close the panel and process your purchase.

There is a UI bug we're investigating on mobile. I think you're reporting that. To work around it:

  1. Tap somewhere on the purchase panel that is not a button (the left side of the screen)
  2. Tap on the collection on the right side of the screen

Thanks, we've found the issue and looking to get a fix out.

In the mean time, guidance to mobile players: After purchasing, click the empty part of the side panel and then click anywhere to close. Your purchase will process right away.

While we look into this more, tap the UI on the left side of the screen that isn't a button. Then tap the darkened background and you should be unblocked.
