I don’t think I fully understand the question here – do you mean block the event in game in the meantime? If we were to do that, it would require an additional full build and downtime, which is not an ideal path forward for many reasons.
We have weekly updates every Thursday. This is one of the fixes that will be in it, and we wanted to let players know ahead of time since it was a hot issue. Additional patch notes will come when we fully announce the downtime, as they always do each week. It takes time to create builds and write corresponding patch notes, so we will share them when they are ready; while there is something to be said about sharing information that may change ahead of time when it is significant (like we did for the roadmap and Legion Raids, and were straightforward about it), it is also not realistic to spend time to write full patch notes, translate, and share them with players and redact or change them several times while something is still in the process of being worked on. This could easily cause confusion with multiple rounds of changes, and is also not an effective use of anyone’s time (including the players, who might have to constantly check back and keep track of what is changing).
