Yeah, but some of the older models look god awful.

That’s not true, I’m actively making changes based on the many discussions I’ve had with players. I’m sorry if I’ve given reason to assume otherwise.
The new dragons, giants and demons were from one graphical update in 2007, when they began moving towards HD (which released a year later). No one considers post-HD as old school and neither should those models. Their presence doesn't negate the fact that most of the mobs (and 100% of the game environment) were still using the older style/gourad shading in 2007. Basically those new dragon/demon/etc models are the least old school thing out of everything that could be considered old school; it's only because they were released in the last "old school" year that they are considered as such.
What are your opinions of Varrock, Canifis and Dorgesh-Kaan? I’m sorry you don’t feel that the later additions to the game (2007-era) are classed as old school. I feel like we’re never going to agree if that’s the case.
I’m sorry if you’re not a fan of me explaining my position on the matter, all I want is a discussion with the community so I can get to a solution that most are happy with. Just because I disagree in some aspects, doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore all feedback and do what I want regardless. If that was the case, I’m just wasting my time communicating and no one wins.
Thank you for your feedback <3 (honestly I mean this, I’m not being sarcastic)
I see this coming up a lot, so here's my general advise as a web developer:
These 3 steps make it so that in the vast majority of cases, your account is secure. Once step (1) and (2) are done, you only need to be careful with step (3). If your security question was "What's the name of my first pet?", and then you go on social media and say "My first pet ever, Peepoo, is so cute", you are opening yourself up to being hacked. Choose security questions that are personal and memorable, don't share their answers, and you should be just fine.
Just post what you want, down votes or upvotes dont even matter since people care about what you say
Fair enough, thanks for your feedback :)

Alright, thanks for your feedback!

Unsure if that’s a compliment - thanks either way!

I’ve already made adjustments to the armour, if that isn’t good enough, I’m sorry. Art is subjective.

I’m sorry you feel that way. If you’re going to read more into my words than what is there, then perhaps we should stop interacting. It seems you’ve already got your opinion of me and there’s nothing I can say that you won’t twist - even thanking others is off the table.
Again, I’m sorry if I’ve offended.

You’re the one who said I need to be more tactful, I was just agreeing with you - sorry if I offended you.

How mature of you.
Also, I’ve played the game since 2004 - Im definitely not just in it for the pay check, but thanks for your feedback regardless.

I do, I was just unaware of how sensitive some players are. If I’m not allowed to tell someone that they’re wrong, that’s fair - I won’t do that again.
:P internal anguish :P

Nah never avoid discussing stuff here. Correct someone if they need correcting. He guessed and was wrong. In this instance saying "but good try!" came across as smarmy, too magnanimous, but that's not really your fault. You just got caught on the wrong side of the circlejerk this time.
Trust that most people here want to contribute positively and respectfully. We're lucky to have devs, like you, that care enough to listen to feedback and engage with the community.
Thanks for the feedback (: It's true, I can't help how some may project their own opinion into my words and assume I'm being rude. I'll be more careful with word choice in the future as I certainly don't want to stop the discussion as that'll benefit nobody.
I think at least half of the downvotes are because you are more concerned about being right and about being downvoted than finding a solution for the problem.
Keep in mind that artwork is not an exact science, and dismissing an argument simply because there is an exception to the rule does not contribute to the discussion. That's probably whrere the other half of the downvotes come from.
I'm being down voted because I'm concerned about being down voted? I only added that part when I was being down voted as it's not helping the discussion.
Either way, I've come here to engage with the community in discussion so I can figure out what needs to be adjusted. Perhaps I shouldn't have corrected the original commenter - I'll avoid doing that in the future.

It wasn't my intention to sound condescending, I'm sorry if that was the case. I'll try pick my words a little more carefully next time.
I love this :D

the players are 10x more educated in old school runescape and how it should look because they have lived through this game since childhood.
By this logic, I'm perfectly qualified in knowing the old school style as I've played the game since 2004, yet others are telling me I'm incorrect.
I also never claimed that an art director would know best, that's what the comment I was responding to was implying - I was just asking why they believed that. I'm just trying to understand what needs to be changed and most comments aren't overly helpful in guiding me towards an agreeable mid-ground.
Make sure to also pass on how brilliantly done the quest is! Naturally more negative feedback will take precedence on forums and social media, but I really can't gush enough about how great the quest was. From the writing, to the puzzles, to the music, down to even stuff as small as the sound effects during the Fragment fight (seriously, this really impressed me. Some of the best sound design I've experienced playing RS), I was enamored from start to finish. Currently loving Zalcano and the rest of what Prif has to offer too!
Will do! The quest was overwhelmingly well received and the team is ecstatic about that. I've said elsewhere that I'm glad in a way that this is the main point of negative feedback rather than something more gamebreaking. It's a sign that the vast majority of the quest went well.
u/JagexGambit Hi please read this! Excellent expansion to points I made on the 1 Day After thread
I've read it - there are some completely valid points here. I'm putting together all the feedback you guys have given and will pass it onto the Song of the Elves team.
