Hello, unfortunately yes, this option caused some very severe issues and thus its functionality has been turned off for now. It should return in one of the later patches.
It's a Toybox problem.
So r/OwlcatGames is still controlled only by 1A4 and is set to restricted. I know we got r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker back, are mods working on that?
It's being worked on. Sadly the administration is slow at the moment due to overload.

You may want to look through the recent ban list and reverse a few. I think a couple people ate temps for arguing.
Oh, and you probably noticed the stickies are down. Not to pile on, but the "Console Feedback" one should probably be restored. Owlcat actually uses it.

What if I want to change the game back to default without the mods and just play it vanilla? How do I do that?
To make sure everything works, you have to start a new game. Old save is not repairable if you used mods that modified anything on a serious level.
You may try reverting to one of the previous versions available through steam beta interface, if these mods refuse to launch on the current version.
Hey I am having a technical issue and I don't know how to fix it. I've searched online and can't find any videos or posts anywhere for my particular problem.
So I downloaded Wrath Of The Righteous in 2022 and played a good deal of it. 109 hours. During that time I downloaded some Mods, Visual Adjustment and Unity Mod Manager. I did this to change a few character portraits in the game to something else.
I recently moved to a new PC and had to reinstall the game. Now some character portraits are broken. I tried reinstalling the mods, it did not fix it. I got rid of the Mods. It didn't fix it. Now I have a game with character portraits that are just broken and I don't know how to fix it.
Please let me know, I don't know what to do and I can't find anything helpful anywhere.
Hello, mods irreversibly change the save file, so your only choice is to install the same selection of mods and hope that the authors updated all those mods to the latest version.
I looked it up recently and was shocked to find that Kingmaker was Owlcat's first game. I realize that the original launch wasn't nearly as good as it is now, but having played it years after the enhanced edition came out, I'm pretty impressed with it and Wrath of the Righteous.
I assume Owlcat is made up of vets from other companies that have long histories of great rpgs, because I don't know how else they pull something like this off. They are quickly becoming the modern version of late nineties-early aughts Bioware.
Thanks for the trust, we're trying to do our best :) The team indeed had a good handful of vets who were in the industry for many years, so they knew what they were doing. But of course we've gained a lot of experience from our own projects over these years, too.
Owlcat, at least originally consisted of devs from MyGames, working previously on MMO stinkers for MailRu, that has a reputation of greedy, evil corporation. But at least the Team leader has also previously worked on some bangers such as Heroes of Might & Magic 5 and Evil Islands.
So the story is that MMO devs were tired of making shitty MMOs and wanted to make good single player games. They also hired Chris Avellone as a writer, who's an rpg legend, despite allegations. Interestingly enough, MailRu was a publisher for Kingmaker as well. Only in 2019 they parted ways with their parent company, before WOTR development started. Owlcat also lost rights to Kingmaker by doing that, so buying it now is pointless, if you want to support Owlcat. But also it's not like it was a hateful breakup, since they also received funds from Mailru after going independent.. Business in Russia is weird okay.
Kingmaker had a contracted short support period lasting a few months after we've parted ways with MyGames. Those were the only funds received. All further patch development past that point was done literally for free because the game still needed updates. Unfortunately, after a certain point it became financially impossible to continue.
So not that weird after all, you can say Kingmaker was the price of our freedom :)
