Could showing the skill without DPS number be a possible thing?, that way we can see the actual description of the gem, its tags etc.
I believe the way we're doing it now is the closest to that we can get but I'll ask around.
Makes perfect sense to me. Also lets you hype us up even more with your reveals and gifs!
We like to use all the development time we have to continue to iterate on things. Sometimes when we show a gem in the announcement, the values end up changing which can make it seem some like something was nerfed before it was even released. Revealing them this way allows us to give you a sense of the scope of what's coming without either backing us into a corner or requiring us to make an unpopular change later.
One or two reveals a day until patch notes 2 days before release is typical.
Bex even saves some for weekends.

I feel like even small numerical changes for some melee skills would go a long way for melee players.. Well gotta wait till June I guess.
Small numerical changes still take a fair bit of time and careful planning but I will make sure the team hears this feedback.
We try to focus on one area of balance with each major expansion to address that area as thoroughly as we can. Around the time that we started scoping 3.6.0, handcasting and lack of powerful spell variety were big topics both in the community and in our design discussions. We feel that the changes in 3.6.0 greatly improve the spellcasting situation and are very much looking forward to your feedback on these when you get to play the expansion.
As for melee, it's certainly on our radar and is likely to be the focus of 3.7.0 balance work. The design team have some good ideas that I'm quite excited about.
