In Lake of Kalandra, you'll have the option to select a lower tier version of a microtransaction you want to use. This feature will work on these challenge rewards, as well as any other microtransactions we've released that have tiers.

The gem post has now been updated with Lightning Conduit's new values at 20/20. Thanks for your patience everyone!

In the Kalandra League, you'll be able to earn exclusive microtransactions by completing 40 new challenges. At 4, 6, 8, and 10 challenges, you'll receive the Iridescent Helmet Attachment, Iridescent Weapon Effect, Iridescent Character Effect, and Iridescent Wings respectively. Additional tiers of these microtransactions are unlocked as you complete more challenges in the Kalandra League. Completing challenges also grants you pieces of the Kalandra Totem Pole Hideout decoration. Check them out below!

You'll be able to check out the full list of challenges you need to complete for these rewards when Path of Exile: Lake of Kalandra launches for PC and Mac on August 19th PDT and for console on August 24th PDT.

Wasn't there a change to Melee awhile back that basically gave (most) Melee based skills a mini cone that could hit however many enemies within that cone?

Yes that was in 3.7.0 (alongside Legion league), and was the introduction of strike skills.

The reason "Strike" exists as a gem tag is because we could no longer identify that set of skills as "single-target melee attacks" because they hit multiple targets.

We're working on getting the gem post updated!

Post

After further review of Lightning Conduit, we're making the tough call of adjusting its balance away from the values revealed in the gem post. We've focused on lowering the base hit damage while slightly raising the shock scaling, to reduce its power with builds that have low shock investment.

We've lowered the base hit damage of the skill by 35% and have raised the hit damage multiplier that is based on the Shock strength from 15% to 20% per 5% at gem level 20. Damage Effectiveness has been updated to 190%.

We understand this has a big impact on builds that you're preparing for launch, so we don't make this change lightly. In the future we will take more steps to make sure that our balance review process is completed before we reveal new gems.

The trade experience will be exactly the same as PC, so you will need to be in the same instance as the other person to complete the trade.

For a number of years, the PC/Mac version of Path of Exile has used a trade system where players can search for items on a trade website, and then contact those users in-game to arrange a trade. The console version of Path of Exile has used a different system, called the Trade Market. This post details our plans to bring the Trade Site to console players and eventually phase out the Trade Market.

The context for these changes is that of unification. It would be great to see both the console and PC version have the same choice of either mouse/keyboard or game controller. It would be great for them to get the same patches, on the same day, and potentially have cross-play, cross-progression and cross-purchases. All of these are difficult issues that require significant engineering work, platform support and various other factors, so we're not able to promise any of them at this stage. But it's a future we'd love to work towards, and one that requires that Path of Exile is the ... Read more
