Oh man, I kind of liked how different the old tridention felt from knights :(. But yea, they were to strong probably.

Well, the new Tridentions are still different than standard Knights, as yeah, they have Persist, but they're also ranged.
Maybe - but they were overly nerfed and haven’t been viable since. Hence the consensus here agreeing they’re the worst tribe - staggering considering they were once the best.
We have toyed with some ideas to give them a little bit of a buff, but haven't implemented them yet.
We understand that they're a little weak, but we think they're far from "the worst tribe".
They used to be good but then the developer literally destroyed them and they just haven’t been touched since. Really disappointing as I used to main them.
We nerfed them for good reason.

Is this update fixing the overpowered Tridention spamming strategy? On water worlds there’s no counter against a bunch of 4 ranged + retreating units.

I think they're worried about someone cheating or modding skins on their client rather than paying. If someone wants to make fan made content for themselves, or mock tribes to showcase online I don't think it's that bad
We also don't want that happening, either

There should be cross progression in my opinion. Among Us managed that and it was literally made by 3 people in a shed that didn’t even plan on updating it past November of 2019.
I understand it’s not that simple though. Case and point. You have to buy all of them again.
In our specific circumstances, a shared account thing would be very difficult to implement.
We did have a 50% sale recently, but that ended on the 17th.

I’m guessing that the city level up is handled client side, so if you modify your game you can choose whatever you want as your level up reward (which if it is the case then zoythrus please fix) or that since he was the host and the host controls which version is played he was using a modified version of the game that lets the host choose giants on their first level (which if it is the case the zoythrus please fix)
Either way I very much doubt that the guy you were playing was a leet hacker, they’re probably a kid that searched Polytopia hacks after losing one too many games
We have fixed this in an upcoming patch by using some more server verification.

Ok I understand. But considering seeds are In the game and every map has a seed, why is there no option to select a certain seed?
The official answer, at this time, is that we consider "exploration" to be a core skill of Polytopia, and don't want people memorizing a particular map layout.
Also, there's also the fact that different combos of tribes means a different map layout, since tribe balance affects the terrain generation.
We currently have no plans to add this at this time.
