PUBG began with the iconic 8×8 map Erangel; today, with Update 12.2 we’re excited to release our newest 8×8 map: Taego.
Taego has diverse terrain and environments, with numerous towns, compounds, and unique points of interest across the Battleground. Be on the lookout for wildlife, with flocks of birds reacting to player movement and gunfire, giving you a potential early sign of danger ahead. Comeback BR and the Self AED are two new gameplay features exclusive to Taego, giving players a chance to get back into the fight.

Last April, we released an article regarding changes to the pass and store UX. Thanks to the feedback you shared, we were able to continue to make improvements.
We learned a lot from applying these UX changes to the game. First, even with a functionally improved update, changes in the in-game experience may require a period of adaptation. Second, we know it is important to provide an option to choose between the previous and new controls for players who are familiar with the traditional controls.
We will provide options to select between the previous and the new controls for all in-game control updates in the future.

Since the introduction of PUBG on console devices via Xbox in December 2017, PUBG UX has made several major and minor improvements through 1.0 and PlayStation releases in 2018 and Stadia’s launch in 2019. The reason we want to keep improving is to make it more suitable for the console environment. However, no matter how positive these improvements are, we fully understand that the new UX requires getting used to for players who are already familiar with the existing UX.
Therefore, we are extra cautious when delivering UX updates. Through this announcement, we will explain the current problems of UX and what we want to achieve through the new UX. Also, we would like to hear your feedback and apply it to the new UX that will be released with the 11.2 update.
